Sometimes it seems there is so much theater happening that it's difficult to keep track of it all. From personal experience, despite all the datebooks, smart phones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops...it's hard to keep everything straight in this wacky business of the show.

Who is Annie without her red dress? Or Eva with out her balcony? It is the charge of the Broadway designer to transport the audience into the world of a show, whether it be Great Depression-era New York City or outside of the Casa Rosada. In our new series, Broadway by Design, BroadwayWorld will be shining a spotlight on the stellar designs of this Broadway season, show by show. Today, we kick off the series with David Rockwell and Jeff Mahshie, who acted as scenic and costume designers for Roundabout's glorious revival of SHE LOVES ME.

Co-hosted by Susan Haskins and guest host Jesse Green, THEATER TALK spotlights the acclaimed Broadway 2015 revival of the musical Fiddler on the Roof, now at the Broadway Theatre, with director Bartlett Sher and star Danny Burstein.

Last Thursday night, 1,079 miles apart, two different casts celebrated triumphant openings of the classic Bock and Harnick musical SHE LOVES ME. In New York City, the Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway revival opened with a cast of Tony winners and TV stars, while here in Central Florida, Theatre UCF's production might not boast a cast quite as famous, but it is no doubt just as spectacular.

From Momma Rose to Annie Oakley to Reno Sweeney, nobody belted the big roles like Ethel Merman, who never had a flop in over three decades encompassing Broadway's Golden Age. George Gershwin told her never to take voice lessons, and he and fellow scribes from Berlin to Porter worshipped Merman as a muse. Tony Award-winning music director Ted Sperling pays tribute to the star and the songs she inspired in Everything's Coming Up Ethel: The Ethel Merman Songbook.

Arizona Theatre Company's 50th anniversary season promises to be its most ambitious ever with a six-show mainstage lineup of the finest contemporary and classic American theatre.  The lineup ranges from the just-closed acclaimed Broadway hits King Charles III and An Act of God, by 13-time Emmy-winning writer and producer of The Daily Show With John Stewart; to the Johnny Cash musical Ring of Fire and an epic revival of the beloved musical about family, faith and tradition, Fiddler on The Roof. 

Maize & Blue on Broadway is a one-night-only benefit concert on May 16, 2016 at 7PM at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) to celebrate the University of Michigan and its renowned Musical Theatre Department, as well as honor its longtime chair, Brent Wagner, who is retiring in May after 32 years of being the department's heart and soul.  

Who hasn't seen the play or the movie or listened to the music from Fiddler on the Roof? Since it first opened on Broadway in 1964, Fiddler has become beloved around the world for its humor and cultural relevance.

The legendary CHITA RIVERA has joined the list of honorees being celebrated at TADA!'s 30th Anniversary Gala on May 23, 2016. The Gala is hosted by TADA! Alum, JORDAN PEELE, of Comedy Central's "Key & Peele."

The Drama League will recognize three outstanding stage luminaries at this year's 82nd Annual Drama League Awards, set for Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square, it was announced today.

SHE LOVES ME officially opened last week on March 17, 2016, for a limited engagement through July 10, 2016 at Studio 54 on Broadway. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the whole evening, starting with the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony. Cast members from Fiddler on the Roof visited the Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side (150 East 86th Street) yesterday, Friday, March 18th in celebration of the New 2016 Broadway Cast Album being released worldwide by Broadway Records. BroadwayWorld was there for the performance and CD signing, and you can check out photos below!
