Charlie Lubeck & Dana Parker to Lead Chicago Premiere of FIRST DATE in 2015

FIRST DATE, Broadway's new musical comedy about the most dangerous human endeavor in existence, the dreaded blind date previews at the Royal George Cabaret, 1641 North Halsted, Chicago previewing on Feb. 5 and opening Feb. 12 for a limited engagement. FIRST DATE features a book by Austin Winsberg ('Gossip Girl') and Music and Lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner (Secondhand Lions, Twice Charmed).

BWW Review: HANDS ON A HARDBODY Outrageously Funny Opens 41st Season at the Unicorn Theatre

On August 17 Cynthia Levin was honored by the Unicorn Theatre when the Main Stage was renamed the Levin Stage by the Board of Directors and the staff. On Saturday night September 6 the now Levin Stage was christened with one of the best performances to be presented in the 41 seasons of the Unicorn Theatre. Hands on a Hardbody opened the 41st season for the Unicorn with a marvelous production directed by Missy Koonce, with musical direction by Angie Benson and choreography by Christina Burton.

Coterie Theatre Opens SPRING AWAKENING Tonight, Sept 8

The Coterie will launch its 34th season of live theatre tonight, September 8 with the pop rock musical Spring Awakening, the winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical. The show will feature a cast of powerful, young musical theatre performers from the Kansas City area and can be seen in a series of evening shows and Saturday matinees. Spring Awakening is based on the 1891 play of the same name by German playwright Frank Wedekind and explores what has changed-and what hasn't-on the path to understanding sex.
