YPT's 'A Wonder-Filled Evening' Gala set to gather celebrated actors and showcase the best of the multi-award winning company Young People's Theatre (YPT) is turning 50! For five decades YPT has entertained, engaged and created magical experiences for children. In celebration of this milestone event, this multi-award-winning company will be hosting a celebrity-studded gala fundraiser inspired by this year's upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz! The event will be held tonight, October 29 at the stunning Arcadian Court.

Toronto's three favourite not-for-profit musical theatre companies have joined forces to create 'And 5, 6, 7, 8... A Musical Theatre Dance Party,' a celebration of the amazing Toronto musical theatre community and an excuse to cut loose and shake your 'Shipoopi'! The event, jointly hosted by Acting Up Stage Company, Angelwalk Theatre and Theatre 20, will take place at the Drake Underground, the Drake Hotel's swanky underground lair (1150 Queen Street West).

Sharron Matthew's is one of the foremost stars of Canada's cabaret scene, having recently traveled the world on her GOLD tour she returned to Toronto to become the first artist in residence at Buddies in Bad Times theatre where she continues to develop and hone her cabaret skills. This year she joins the stellar line-up at the Global Cabaret Festival, which includes such diverse programming as a David Bowie and Bob Dylan songbook, a look at historical Paris with the music of Debussy and Ravel, Dennis Lee's Lost Songs of Toronto and more. For her contribution, Sharron Matthews has promised to do something 'completely different', which of course had us very intrigued. BWW sat down to talk with Sharron about what exactly 'completely different' entrails, her love of all things cabaret and why she feels The Global Cabaret Festival is such an important event for Toronto:

The 34th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards for the 2012/2013 season were handed out in a star-studded ceremony in Toronto on the evening of Monday, June 24 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts' Bluma Appel Theatre, hosted by the hilarious Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus, Second City alumni and founding members of The National Theatre of the World.

All month long BWW has been showcasing some of Toronto's hottest cabaret stars as they usher in the hoilday season with festive cabarets. We're thrilled to bring the final installment in our cabaret interviews, a feature with Sharron Matthews and George Masswohl who are presenting their 'Super Fun Christmas Sing-A-Long' tomorrow night at Buddies in Bad Times. The duo tell us why they love cabaret and why they love performing together.

Sharron Matthews is a beloved star of Toronto's cabaret and theatre scene, and she's about to embark on a world tour that will take her to Scotland, England, NYC and South Africa! She took a few minutes to talk to BWW about what cabaret means to her, why she's going around the world and what she's doing for Toronto before she leaves.

Shameless! For a Cause is a special cabaret fundraiser happening this weekend at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. The brain child of Ari Weinberg, the evening aims to raise money for LGBTQ youth initiatives while bringing together some of our country's best and brightest for an evening of song and laughter. Set to perform are Sharron Matthews, Michael Hughes, casts of Theatre Sheridan's RENT and Dancap's West Side Story and more. Ari Weinberg sat down to talk with BWW about the event, the charities and why it means so much to him.

Toronto's Luminato Festival held the perfect post-Tony Awards bash this past Monday with its outdoor concert in David Pecaut Square entitled 'Broadway's Night Out.' Hosted by Toronto's Broadway Babies Sharron Matthews and Shawn Hitchins, the show featured cast members from the Stratford Shakespeare Festival's production of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Shaw Festival's My Fair Lady, Meow Meow and Lance Horne. BWW was on hand to bring you photos of all the Broadway fun.

Sharron Matthews embarked upon her World Domination Tour earlier this year and BWW has been following her every step of the way, from Toronto, to NYC and then on to Scotland. The Sharron Matthews World Domination Tour kicked off with two performances at Toronto's Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Sharron Matthews makes her New York cabaret debut at the celebrated nightspot Joe's Pub for two shows on Saturday, June 5 at 7pm and Sunday, June 6 at 9:30pm.
