There is a special treat in store for families this August when the magical and musical James and the Giant Peach plays at the Mercury Theatre Colchester.

Simon Bird will play Zack, Marek Larwood will play Mr Popov (etc) and Ciaran Owens will play Ivan in the world premiere of The Crocodile at Manchester International Festival. 

Rehearsals begin today for the new production of Crossing Jerusalem, written and directed by Julia Pascal, at Park Theatre (PARK90) from 4 - 29 August. David Ricardo Pearce will play the role of Gideon. The full cast is: Louisa Clein, Waleed Elgadi, Adi Lerer, Andy Lucas, David Ricardo Pearce, Chris Spyrides, Alistair Toovey and Trudy Weiss. Press Night is Thursday 6 August, 7pm.

St. Ann's Warehouse, which for 36 years has enlivened New Yorkers with innovative music and theater by some of the world's most vital creative artists, is about to open its first permanent home, a 25,000-sf theater at the breathtaking site of the Tobacco Warehouse, on the waterfront in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The new St. Ann's Warehouse will present an Inaugural Season 2015-16 that epitomizes the organization's indispensable contribution to the global cultural landscape - a series of international productions in which world-class artists reconfigure flexible, open space to realize their spectacular visions.

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the line up of new musicals for their 27th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The Globe's award-winning small-scale touring programme will tour for the first time to the Theatre Royal Glasgow from Tuesday 4 until Saturday 8 August with a brand new production of Romeo & Juliet. It will be the last touring show at Shakespeare's Globe which will be directed by Artists Director Dominic Dromgoole, supported by the young director Tim Hoare. Romeo & Juliet is a fresh and new exploration of Shakespeare's greatest love story. The play opened at the Clwyd Theatr Cymru and will continue to tour around the UK and Europe before making its journey across the pond to the US.

From a Disney classic to new work onstage, Gugu Mbatha-Raw is stretching her range this year. According to the Daily Mail, the upcoming live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST star will lead a new play by Jessica Swale at Shakespeare's Globe this fall.

Autumn 2015 will see the Everyman & Playhouse collaborating with some of the greatest theatre makers in the country. The season begins with Simon Armitage's The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead, directed by Associate Director Nick Bagnall, a co-production with English Touring Theatre.

Hampstead Theatre has announced that Simon Russell Beale will be joined by Dervla Kirwan and Joseph Millson in the cast of Ian Kelly's new play about the dawn of celebrity.

The highly acclaimed and sell-out production of Guys and Dolls will transfer to London's Savoy Theatre in December for a strictly limited 13 week run. Chichester Festival Theatre continue their triumphant musical successes with this exuberant revival which follows transfers of Singin' in the Rain, The Pajama Game and, most recently, Gypsy. Sophie Thompson and Jamie Parker will reprise their roles, with further casting to be announced.

GUYS AND DOLLS, staged at Chichester's Festival Theatre last year, is headed to the West End's Savoy Theatre with some of its original stars intact! According to the Daily Mail, the musical will begin December 10 after GYPSY ends its run.

Direct from two completely sold-out engagements in London, producers Scott Rudin and Lincoln Center Theater will bring the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE to Broadway this fall.  The production, which swept the 2015 Olivier Awards — winning for Best Revival, Best Director, and Best Actor (Mark Strong) —will begin previews Wednesday evening, October 21 and open on Thursday, November 12 at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45 Street.  A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE will play an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, February 21, 2016.

  Shakespeare on the Sound has selected "All's Well That Ends Well" as its 20th anniversary presentation and named nationally renowned Mary B. Robinson to direct The Bard's subtle and poetic comedy in Pinkney Park June 11-28, 2015.
