Rajiv Joseph Returns to the Alley Theatre for The Monster at the Door

Immediately after the Broadway opening of his play Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, named a Pulitzer Prize finalist last year, Alley Company Artist Rajiv Joseph returns to the Alley with the world premiere of his latest play, The Monster at the Door.

Arcelus, Davie, Graham & More to Star in Rupert Holmes' Pre-Broadway A TIME TO KILL at Arena Stage

What is the true meaning of justice? That is the question posed to audiences in A Time to Kill, the world premiere and first stage adaptation of a novel by John Grisham. By special arrangement with Daryl Roth and adapted for the stage by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), A Time to Kill brings the heat of the Deep South to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Directed by Ethan McSweeny (Broadway's Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man'), A Time to Kill runs May 6-June 19, 2011 in the Kreeger Theater.

Mamie Gummer Leads Cast of SCHOOL FOR LIES at Classic Stage Company, 4/13 - 5/22

Arena Stage to Produce RUINED In-the-Round, 4/22-6/5

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will produce the first in-the-round staging of Ruined, the 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama by Arena Stage Project Resident Lynn Nottage and directed by Resident Playwright Charles Randolph-Wright (Director of Arena Stage's Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies). Ruined is the stirring tale of Mama Nadi, a mother figure loosely based on Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children, who provides refuge for women affected by civil war ravaging the Democratic Republic of Congo. The production features an expanded company with cast members playing live music and additional ensemble roles featuring University of Maryland students. Ruined runs April 22-June 5, 2011 in the Fichandler Stage.
