As BroadwayWorld previously reported, On Your Feet! - a new musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, legendary producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan - will have its Pre-Broadway World Premiere in Chicago in Summer 2015 with Broadway In Chicago theater and performance schedule to be announced. It will open on Broadway in Fall 2015 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. According to a Equity casting notice, the new musical will get a staged reading in New York City later this month, July 21-31. It also notes that creators are seeking actors who are fluent in Spanish to play 'Young Emilio.'

According to an Equity casting notice, a musical version of Chazz Palminteri's A BRONX TALE is set to get a developmental lab August 4-27. The musical features a book and lyrics by Palminteri and music by Alan Menken. Sergio Trujillo is set to choreograph the project.

Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century's most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today. The show opened last night, June 19 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway at 47th Street), and BroadwayWorld was there for all of the festivities.
