The Martha Graham Dance Company announces the 2018–19 season of its popular Studio Series, which offers audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the Company in the intimate setting of the Martha Graham Studio Theater. The events in this season's Studio Series revolve around the Company's EVE Project, a two-year initiative featuring new works by female choreographers and classic Graham repertory focused on heroines and anti-heroines—all with an underlying statement about female power.

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the 2018–2019 season roster. A total of 66 dancers make up the Company roster, with 56 in the main company and ten in Boston Ballet II (BBII), Boston Ballet's second company. Five new dancers join the main company, six new dancers join BBII, and five Boston Ballet dancers received promotions for the upcoming season.
The Young Ensemble performs the Bessie Award-winning Naharin's Virus in the Ted Shawn Theatre at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, July 4-8. The work showcases the "superhumanly spry" (The New York Times) abilities of the Israel-based contemporary dance company, a second branch of Batsheva Dance Company. Batsheva and The Young Ensemble have gained international recognition for their use of the innovative movement research Gaga, developed by Artistic Director Ohad Naharin. Miami City Ballet (MCB) has announced its 52-member roster for the 2018/19 season, which opens on October 19 in Miami. The highlights include the return of principal dancer Jeanette Delgado, the promotion of Samantha Hope Galler from corps de ballet to soloist, and the addition of five new dancers to the corps de ballet: Gustavo Ribeiro, former corps de ballet member at Kansas City Ballet; Madison McDonough, formerly a member of the corps de ballet at Los Angeles Ballet; Nina Fernandes, formerly a member of the corps de ballet at Houston Ballet; Satoki Habuchi and Petra Love, both recent graduates of Miami City Ballet School.
