Photo Flash: YOU, NERO At Berkeley Rep Theater

Even as it announces a new season filled with hot plays and another show bound for Broadway, Berkeley Repertory Theatre concludes its current season with the world premiere of a smart and sassy script featuring favorite local artists: You, Nero, a new comedy written by Amy Freed and directed by Sharon Ott, rules the Thrust Stage this spring. Starring Danny Scheie as the preposterous emperor of ancient Rome, You, Nero begins previews on May 15, opens May 20, and closes June 28.

Iizuka's GHOSTWRITTEN Comes To Goodman Stage 4/4-5/3

Joyce Award-recipient Naomi Iizuka brings her tale of family ties, a lingering debt, mystical stories-and magical food-to the Goodman stage in her newest work, Ghostwritten, April 4 - May 3, 2009. Lisa Portes, who has shepherded this play from its first appearance at the 2007 New Stages Series, directs its world-premiere production with a cast of Chicago favorites led by Lisa Tejero (Mirror of the Invisible World and Metamorphoses) and Kim Martin-Cotten (King Lear).

Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, under the leadership of Executive Director Stacie Burgua, presents Rabbit Hole, by David Lindsay-Abaire. The production, directed by Chris Fisher, features Max Cole-Takanikos, Patricia Duff, Tom Harris, Jill Johnson, and Melissa McAlerney. Performances will begin at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, 565 Camano Avenue, on Friday, April 10 and continue through Saturday, April 25.

She could also have taken the title of 'walking controversy,' thanks largely to her partying past. This spring, iconic actress Carrie Fisher brings her dynamic spirit and real-life tale to Seattle Repertory Theatre as it presents Carrie Fisher's Wishful Drinking April 2 through May 3 at its Bagley Wright Theatre.

Denis O'Hare Stars In AN ILIAD At Seattle Rep 4/19-5/16/10

Tony Award winning actor Denis O'Hare is set to lead the cast of An Iliad at Seattle Repertory Theater. The show is co-created by O'Hare along with director Lisa Peterson. An Iliad is adapted from stories from Homer's tale about the Trojan War, The Iliad. The show will run 4/19-5/16 2010.
