Seattle Rep to Premiere Edgerton New Play Award-Winner ROZ AND RAY

Seattle Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of the compelling new drama and recipient of an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award Roz and Ray, the story of Ray, a single dad who believes he's found a miracle in Dr. Roz, until tragedy strikes.

Sarah Ruhl's New Play SCENES FROM COURT LIFE Opens Yale Rep's 50th Anniversary Season Tonight

Yale Repertory Theatre, celebrating 50 years of daring artists, bold choices, and adventurous audiences, presents the world premiere of Scenes from Court Life, or the whipping boy and his prince by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, tonight, September 30, through October 22 at Yale University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is Thursday, October 6.

Van Quattro to Lead Amphibian Stage's SMART PRETTY FUNNY

Amphibian Stage Productions has announced the final cast member for its fourth main stage play of the 2016 season, Smart Pretty Funny by Kathleen Culebro. Starring Gretchen Corbett, Van Quattro, Vanessa DeSilvio, Ivan Jasso, and Anastasia Muñoz, the play will run Thursday, October 20 through Sunday, November 13 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

OSF's New 'American Revolutions' Commissions Make National Impact

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's growing reputation as an incubator for some of the best new American plays continues this fall and winter, as commissions from the "American Revolutions: The United States History Cycle" program and other new work will grace stages across the country.

Theatre for the New City Explodes with New Musical, THE FOLK SINGER and New Plays: LIFE MASKS

Created by the team behind the critically acclaimed 2015 production of Heather Smiley for President, the musical has a book and lyrics by Tom Attea, with music composed by Arthur Abrams. La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts Presents LEND ME A TENOR

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are delighted to present the second show of its 2016-2017 season:  Davis Gaines starring in the hilarious comedy LEND ME A TENOR, written by Ken Ludwig and directed by Art Manke.  LEND ME A TENOR will preview on Friday, October 21, 2016 (with a press opening on Saturday, October 22) and run through Sunday, November 13, 2016 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.   

TeenTix Announces Nominees of 2016 Teeny Awards

For the eighth year, Seattle's TeenTix, an arts access and engagement program for teenagers, has announced the nominees for its annual Teeny Awards. Like a Teen Choice Awards for local arts events and organizations, the Teeny Awards aim to empower teen arts audiences and to recognize those organizations that have done an especially good job of welcoming young people over the past year.

UMKC Theatre Season Opens with Theresa Rebeck's O BEAUTIFUL

UMKC Theatre kicks off its 2016-2017 season with the explosive satirical play, O Beautiful by Theresa Rebeck. Co-directed by Stephanie Roberts and Theodore Swetz, O Beautiful will preview October 14, 15, 17, 18, open October 19, and run selected dates through October 23 at the Spencer Theatre, James C. Olson Performing Arts Center, on the UMKC campus.

Seattle Repertory Theatre Proudly Presents Public Works Seattle

Seattle Repertory Theatre today announced the highly anticipated launch of Public Works Seattle. One of Artistic Director Braden Abraham's first major new artistic initiatives, Public Works Seattle creates theatre of the people, by the people, and for the people of our region. Adapted from the nationally recognized model built by New York City's prestigious The Public Theatre, this program seeks to engage audiences in new ways by making them creators and not just spectators. In September 2017, Seattle Rep will produce a large-scale production featuring over 100 community members on the Bagley Wright Stage, and today marks the celebratory public launch of this inaugural program's preparation.
