Seattle Center Abounds in Spirited Seasonal Activities 12/10-11

The spirit of the season abounds this weekend at Seattle Center. The sparkling lights, child-sized diversions and live entertainment of Seattle Center Winterfest continue, and activities presented by campus residents provide additional delight and inspiration.

BWW Review: A Beautiful Love Story that Doesn't Always Flow in Seattle Rep's VIETGONE

The “playwright” of “Vietgone”, currently playing at the Seattle Rep, tells us from the beginning that this is not a war story but a love story. Well he also tells us that this is in no way based on his parents and we know that's a lie. But while it's not necessarily a story about war but a love story with a war as it's backdrop, the show does manage some very interesting perspectives on war that the average American might not have.

Krystina Alabado, Zachary Prince, and Ashley Park Join Prospect for STRIKING 12 in Concert

Prospect Theater Company (Melissa Huber, Managing Director / Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director) is pleased to announce casting for its final 2016 IGNITE Series event on Friday, December 16th at 8pm at the TimesCenter (242 West 41st Street).  The evening will feature a a special concert presentation of the musical Striking 12, with book, music, and lyrics by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin and Val Vigoda.

Last season's critically acclaimed, World Premiere hit Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL returns to Rubicon Theatre Company this holiday season with Broadway, TV and film veterans Peter Van Norden (RTC's Copenhagen) and Joe Spano ('NCIS,' RTC's Bucky) reprising their roles in this innovative retelling of the classic. Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL opens in Ventura on Saturday, December 10, followed by an after-party at Rhumb Line Restaurant. David M. Lutken to Play Title Role in 'WOODY SEZ' at Seattle Rep

The internationally acclaimed tale, Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie, is coming to Seattle Repertory Theatre. This musical portrait, featuring Woody's stirring ballads and joyous anthems, celebrates the colorful life and rich musical legacy of America's great folk troubadour. Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie will run January 6- 29, 2017 (opening night is January 11, 2017) in the Bagley Wright Theatre.

THE HUMANS to Eat Last Holiday Meal on Broadway This Winter; National Tour on the Horizon!

Producers Scott Rudin and Barry Diller announced today that the most acclaimed, celebrated, and awarded American play in recent memory, The Humans, will play its final Broadway performance on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at its third New York home, the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, after its year-long, smash hit run on Broadway and fourteen weeks Off Broadway.

Yale Rep's Starry SEVEN GUITARS Officially Starts Tonight

Yale Repertory Theatre presents August Wilson's SEVEN GUITARS, directed by Timothy Douglas, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) now through December 17. Opening Night is tonight, December 1.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) announces the cast of Georges Feydeau's 'An Absolute Turkey', adapted from Le Dindon by Nicki Frei and Peter Hall. Paul Mullins will direct. Love, Laughs, and Ninja Fights in Seattle Rep's VIETGONE

Seattle Repertory Theatre presents Vietgone, the highly anticipated new play, produced in association with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, from up-and-coming playwright Qui Nguyen (Vampire Cowboys). Vietgone loosely chronicles Nguyen's parent's journey from Vietnam to American in 1975, with a quirky approach Nguyen describes as 'a sex comedy about my parents.' With direction by May Adrales, who has been with the show since its inception, Vietgone will run December 2, 2016-January 1, 2017 (opening night is December 7, 2016) in the Leo K. Theatre.
