BEHANDING IN SPOKANE's Christopher Walken Visits 'The View' 3/12

Academy Award-winner Christopher Walken, star of A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE, will appear on 'The View' tomorrow, Friday, March 12. 'The View' airs in the New York area on WABC-TV, Channel 7 from 11:00am to 12pm. Check local listings for times outside the NY area.

LANGSTON IN HARLEM Premieres @ urban Stages 4/9; Gash Helms, Towers Stars

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Artistic Director, Lauren Schmiedel, Managing Director) will present the World Premiere of the musical Langston in Harlem, featuring a book by Langston Hughes, Walter Marks and Kent Gash, with music by Walter Marks, lyrics by Langston Hughes and directed by Kent Gash, with musical direction by Barry Levitt and choreography by Byron Easley. Langston in Harlem will begin previews on Friday, April 9; opening on Thursday, April 15, 2010 and will initially run through May 2, 2010.

Denzel Washington's Talks His Long Road to FENCES

WENN news reports that Denzel Washington had been hesitant to play the role of Troy Maxson in August Wilson's FENCES for years because of who had been there before him. James Earl Jones originally starred in the role in 1987 and for years Washington felt he was too young for the part.

Additional casting is set for the first Broadway revival of FENCES, the 1987 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play by August Wilson, starring two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington and featuring Tony Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee Viola Davis. FENCES, directed by Kenny Leon, will open on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). The strictly limited 13-week engagement will begin previews on April 14. Broadway-Bound Denzel Washington Regrets Passing on 'Seven'

Two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington, who is set to appear in August Wilson's FENCES this spring, expressed some lingering regret in turning down the Brad Pitt role in the 1995 thriller SEVEN. Washington told Entertainment Weekly, 'The only film that was sort of dark that I'd turned down was SEVEN. They offered me the Brad Pitt part, but I was like, 'This is so dark & evil.' Then when I saw the movie, I was like, 'Oh Shoot.'
