Today, we're featuring Jean LeClerc circa 1982. LeClerc first started his career in Quebec on the television series Les Belles Histoires des pays d'en haut. Roles in Quebecois movies followed, culminating in his first English-speaking role in the 1976 Canadian film, Strange Shadows in an Empty Room. That same year, he acted in a television miniseries about the life of Sarah Bernhardt, playing the role of Bernhardt's husband Jacques Damala. LeClerc moved to the United States in 1982, playing the part of a French doctor on the soap opera The Doctors. He played similar roles on The Edge of Night and As the World Turns before being offered the role of American Jeremy Hunter in 1985. In 2001, LeClerc briefly reappeared on All My Children, with his character Jeremy appearing as a ghost. LeClerc most recently appeared in a Patty Duke Show television reunion special and in the 2005 film Idole instantanee. LeClerc also appeared on Broadway as the title character in a production of Dracula.

Sally-Jane Heit will return for her 4th Annual Benefit Performance at the Guthrie Center on August 17 at 7:00pm. This year she'll bring something entirely new to the stage, or entirely old depending how you look at it; Vaudeville - A Valentine to an Old Theatre Art Form. Sally-Jane fell in love with vaudeville when, as a young child her mother would bring her to vaudeville performances performed between the movies at theatres in New York. By the time she embarked on her long career in theatre, television, and movies, vaudeville was dead. She says, 'Before it was eaten alive by television, Vaudeville was the place anyone with a dream could test their wings.'

There are certain occasions when even the most jaded New York audience can just smile and say thank you. The duo recital by soprano Renee Fleming and mezzo-soprano Susan Graham Sunday night at Carnegie Hall was just such an occasion. Given that both divas have sold out Carnegie Hall as individual performers, the dual recital was something very special indeed.
