Dobbalopolis proudly presents boom, Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's apocalyptic comedy.  The production is the first theatrical event produced by the newly minted Dobbalopolis Productions, directed by Tara Elliott (Drama League Fellow) and co-produced by Andrew Dobbie (Stu) and Blaire O'Leary (Exquisite Corpse Company) at The Chain Theater's new space in Manhattan.

Florida Repertory Theatre's Education Department is announcing the opening of Disney's "Newsies" as part of its popular Conservatory Program. Experimental Bitch Presents (EBP) is pleased to announce their 2019 mainstage production, the post-apocalyptic play Jack of Cups by Gabriel Rodriguez. The World Premiere runs May 31 - June 8 at The Flea Theater, with opening night slated for June 1 at 7:00 pm. Jack of Cups is directed by Rodriguez and Madeline Wall. Artistic Director Braden Abraham today announced Seattle Rep's new nine-play 2019/2020 season, which features the second Public Works Seattle production, two musical works, a world premiere, a Pulitzer-Prize nominated play, and more. To align with their vision of 'theater at the heart of public life,' Seattle Rep is also rolling out their new visual identity over the next few months, with a full campaign to be launched in August. With this announcement of the new season, Seattle will get a taste of what is coming at Seattle Rep.

CBS All Access announced today that Alison Pill ('The Newsroom'), Harry Treadaway ('Penny Dreadful') and Isa Briones ('American Crime Story: Versace') were cast as series regulars alongside Sir Patrick Stewart in its upcoming untitled 'Star Trek' series that will explore the next chapter of Jean-Luc Picard. They join previously announced cast members Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and Evan Evagora.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) announces casting for the second production of the 2019 Nutmeg Summer Series: "Cabaret," the Tony-Award-winning musical centering around a German nightclub against the backdrop of the Nazis' rise to power.  The cast will be led by Olivier Award-winner Laura Michelle Kelly (Broadway's "Mary Poppins," "Finding Neverland") as Sally Bowles and Tony Award-nominee Forrest McClendon ("The Scottsboro Boys") as the Emcee.

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. Performance Space New York partners with East Village-based queer funk dance party WET NOISE for a celebratory 12-Hour DANCE-A-THON (May 5, 12pm-12am), a fundraising event that couldn't be further from expectations of what a "fundraising event" entails. The DANCE-A-THON revels in filthy funk music, endless dancing, community building, and inclusivity across age, race, gender, sexuality, and class. DJs tag team in sets as a dynamic give-and-take, throughout the night; they include founding DJ Amber Martin along with Patrick Johnson, Ana Matronic (Scissor Sisters), Seth Kirby (Joshua Light Show), Thomas Campbell, and DatKat (O.E.A.).

The Los Angeles premiere of The Lost Virginity Tour by Cricket Daniel has been announced by producers Jay Donohue and Michelle Hanzelova for a limited run at the McCadden Theatre in Hollywood. Under the direction of Kristin Towers-Rowles, the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Paulette Dozier, Madonna Magee, Toni Perrotta, and Joy Rinaldi. There will be one preview performance on Friday, April 12, at 8pm. Opening is set for Saturday, April 13, at 8pm and the engagement runs through May 5 only.

And that is exactly what AMPARO is; a complete theatrical experience. As I am writing this I can still feel all the emotions I went through when I first participated in AMPARO. I say participated because you don't watch AMPARO, you live it. I also haven't stopped talking about it to anyone who will listen and even now when I describe the experience as I am urging family and friends to GO SEE IT, I get goosebumps. I fear that I won't do the experience justice with my mere words but I will do my best.
