'WALL-E' To Appear On 'TONY' Awards Telecast 6/7

Jim Hill Media reveals today that the Living Character Initiative version of WALL-E will be taking part in the Tony Award telecast tribute to composer Jerry Herman at Sunday's awards.

Brockman, Shew Lead An Audition Workshop At Hershey Area Playhouse 6/20

Hershey Area Playhouse is pleased to announce that professional actors Jane Brockman, a Hershey High School graduate, and her husband, Tim Shew, will share their experiences from their Broadway careers and provide an audition workshop to the public on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Mann, Carmello, Chamberlin, Hoffman, James and More Join Lane and Neuwirth in THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Two-time Tony Award winners NATHAN LANE (The Producers, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum) and BEBE NEUWIRTH (Chicago, Sweet Charity) will star as Gomez and Morticia in THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a new musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. Produced by Stuart Oken, Roy Furman, Michael Leavitt and Five Cent Productions, by special arrangement with Elephant Eye Theatrical, THE ADDAMS FAMILY will open on Broadway Thursday, April 8, 2010 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. Previews will begin Thursday, March 4, 2010 following a pre-Broadway engagement at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre in Chicago that begins November 13.

Jerry Herman, Virginia's Signature Theatre, Shirley Herz and Phyllis Newman Set for Honors at Tony Awards Telecast 6/7

On Monday, May 5, the Tony Administration Committee revealed the names of a quartet of honorees who are to be recognized in the four non-competitive Tony categories. Composer/lyricist Jerry Herman, Virginia's Signature Theatre, and longtime press agent Shirley Herz will be honored at the 63rd annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7. Actress/writer Phyllis Newman will receive the newest Tony Award for her volunteer work as an advocate for women's health.

Patricia Resnick On The Kentertainment Report Sirius/XM 4/23

Ken Kleiber of 'That's Kentertainment!' will be welcoming Patricia Resnick (bookwriter of '9 to 5 The Musical') as a guest on 'The Kentertainment Report' segment of the 'Frank DeCaro Show' Thursday April 23rd at Noon on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, Channel 109. Resnick, also the co-screenwriter of the film '9 to 5', will discuss the upcoming Broadway opening of '9 to 5' The Musical plus other projects inlcuding a Nick, Jr. series she recently wrote and Executive-Produced, plus a new memoir she is currently penning. And, as a happy coincidence, Ms. Resnick wrote the Dolly Parton/James Woods vehicle 'Straight Talk', a film which happens to contain the first on-screen appearance of Ken Kleiber! VANITIES Set for NY Premiere at Off-Bdwy's Second Stage 6/30

THE FANTASTICKS, MIRACLE ON 34th STREET Set For Porchlight Season

Porchlight Music Theatre is growing-up. In celebration of its 15th anniversary Porchlight Music Theatre announces a season of musicals exploring the challenges of growing-up: The Fantasticks, Miracle on 34th Street and Into the Woods. Don Pippin Talks Herman, Music & More to DC Theatre Scene

Legendary musical director Don Pippin, one of the leading conductors in the United States, has taken up the baton to lead the National Symphony Orchestra this week as Kennedy Center honors the accomplishments of Jerry Herman in JERRY HERMAN'S BROADWAY. The gifted Pippin has had a long and rich creative history with Herman as he has collaborated on the composers many works including such musicals as 'Ben Franklin in Paris', 'Mack and Mabel', 'Mame' and 'La Cage Aux Follies'.
