59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) is proud to announce the first production in 1st IRISH 2008, the Origin Theater Company production of END OF LINES, an evening of five short plays inspired by journeys on the NYC subway, written by Gary Duggan, Abbie Spallen, Ursula Rani Sarma, Pat Kinevane and Morna Regan. Directed by David Sullivan, Julia Gibson, Fiana Toibin and Alyse Rothman, END OF LINES begins performances on Saturday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, September 28.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Mara Manus) announced that KICKING A DEAD HORSE, a new play written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard and featuring Tony Award nominee Stephen Rea, has extended its run by two weeks. Following a sold-out run at Ireland's Abbey Theatre, it will preview at The Public on Wednesday, June 25 and run through Sunday, August 10 with an official press opening on Monday, July 14 at 7 PM.

Variety is reporting that powerhouse UK actors Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will be teaming up to help save the struggling Theatre Royal Haymarket. Rumor has it that the two actors will play the clowns Pozzo and Lucky in Beckett's classic Waiting For Godot. All proceeds will go to benefit the Haymarket.
