Anna Mackmin returns to direct Amelia Bullmore's funny and insightful comedy about female friendship. This summer, London's Globe Theatre thrilled Prescott and area audiences with its presentation of 'Hamlet,' the only Canadian stop on its current international tour. Today at 12 noon (December 27th) in Toronto, the esteemed company, in partnership with MEI Events International and Arts Alliance, will continue to spread the Bard's good word in a screening of six plays starting with 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' part of its very popular 'Shakespeare's Globe on Screen' series. It will be 'A Midwinter Afternoon's Treat.'

After the success of A Little Night Music in Concert, Alex Parker returns to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre for one night with a concert that features the music of three of Broadway's greatest composers. Some of the musicals represented in the evening include La Cage Aux Folles, Hello Dolly, Mame, Dear World, Mack & Mabel, Funny Girl, Gypsy, Follies, Company, Sunday In The Park With George, Road Show and many more. Shakespeare's classic exploration of ambition, guilt and destiny opens at the Globe on 22 June 2013, the third and final play in the Season of Plenty's trio of supernatural Shakespeares. The production features Joseph Millson and Samantha Spiro as the murderous couple at the heart of the play, with Billy Boyd as Banquo and Gawn Grainger as Duncan. Celebrated cabaret artist Bette Bourne will play the Porter.

On Saturday 13 April, the Almeida Theatre hosted a party at Middle Temple Hall, the very place that saw the first performance of Twelfth Night, to give Michael an amazing send-off. Last night, 23 February 2012, host Jan Ravens, performers Daniel Evans, Josie Lawrence, Jenny Jules, Jonathan Pryce, Jenna Russell, Samantha Spiro and Meera Syal, the Young Friends of the Almeida and award-winning theatre company Inspector Sands performed as part of Almeida Up Close, the theatre's 2012 fundraising Gala. Directed by Indhu Rubasingham, Almeida Up Close took place at One Mayfair. The evening of fine dining and cabaret included music by Stephen Sondheim and Amy Winehouse.
