Riding high from their last two wildly successful productions of Happy In The Poorhouse and The Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side, The Amoralists presents the Off-Broadway Premiere of Amerissiah, written and directed by Derek Ahonen. Amerissiah runs from June 3 to 28, 2010 in a limited engagement at Theatre 80 St. Marks, located at 80 St. Marks Place between 1st and 2nd Avenues in NYC. Previews begin June 3 for a June 5 opening.

Tremont's resident theatre company, convergence-continuum, continues its 2010 season at the Liminis theatre with the Ohio premiere of DARK RIDE, a convoluted, phantasmagoric and strangely comic tale by Len Jenkin.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced Bruce Norris's critically-acclaimed Clybourne Park as the final play of the company's 44th subscription season. Home is where the heart-and history-is in Clybourne Park, a 'spiky and damningly insightful new comedy' (The New York Times).

The Vineyard Theatre's world-premiere production of THE METAL CHILDREN, written and directed by Adam Rapp, begins previews on May 5. The play has an official opening on May 19 at the Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.) in Manhattan.

Lortel Statues for 14 categories and 2 special awards were handed out by celebrity presenters at the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards at a live awards ceremony tonight at Terminal 5. Hosted by the Off-Broadway League, the live show was co-hosted by Bryan Batt and Bebe Neuwirth and featured performances by Alan Menken, STOMP, Seth Rudetsky, Edward Watts of The Fanasticks and LaChanze.

On Monday, May 17th at 6pm journalist and theater critic Don Shewey will interview Tony Award-winning actress Carole Shelley. On stage, Shelley made her Broadway debut in the original 1965 production of The Odd Couple, playing Gwendolyn Pigeon, a role which she reprised for the film version and for the first season of the subsequent television series.

The Amoralists will close the run of their current Off-Broadway production of Happy In The Poorhouse on April 26th. The World Premiere of Happy In The Poorhouse began performances on March 11 with an original closing date set for April 5.
