Sarab Kamoo and More Star in BECKY SHAW at Performance Network Theatre, Now thru 7/28

After its smashingly successful run on Broadway in 2009, the Pulitzer Prize Finalist and comedic play, 'Becky Shaw' by Gina Gionfriddo makes its Michigan Premiere tonight, June 20 through July 28, 2013 with an all star cast and high-end designers at Performance Network Theatre, Michigan's most award winning professional theatre.

Hudson Mainstage Theater to Present THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT, 7/19-8/24

The Bible's most notorious traitor is put on trial in a present-day urban courtroom in a darkly funny look at the meaning of redemption by playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. Director Josh T. Ryan (Zombie Joe's Underground) takes the reins, upping the ante to create a lean, complex and gritty revival at the Hudson Mainstage, opening July 19.

MCC Theater recently announced that Neil LaBute's new play, Reasons to be Happy, also directed by LaBute, will now extend through Saturday, June 29th. Reasons to Be Happy is a companion piece to LaBute's critically-acclaimed award-winning play,Reasons to Be Pretty, first produced at MCC Theater in 2008 before moving to Broadway where it was nominated for three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Play. Steve Carell Film to Close 2013 LA FILM FESTIVAL: Full Line-Up Announced

Today the Los Angeles Film Festival, presented by Film Independent, in conjunction with Presenting Media Sponsor the Los Angeles Times and Host Partner L.A. LIVE, announced its official US and international selections. Fox Searchlight Pictures' The Way, Way Back, written and directed by Oscar winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, will serve as the Closing Night film for the 2013 Festival.

THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world-all during a summer he will never forget.

Beginning tomorrow, April 6th, Laura Jordan will join the cast of Off-Broadway's smash hit SILENCE! The Musical as Clarice Starling. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run at the end of 2012, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records held by the show. Subsequently, the producers determined that the production would reopen on January 19th. After opening initially at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre in Times Square which was constructed especially for the show.

Julia Albain and Corey Lubowich (of Team StarKid fame) have announced a Kickstarter campaign for Judas Redux, a project that will include extensive behind-the-scenes content and a new production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by Julia Albain, and featuring Lauren Lopez, Joey Richter and Brian Rosenthal. If the goal of $36,000 is met, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot will be presented at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont in Chicago, for 18 performances, August 23 - September 8, 2013.
