Miller Theatre At Columbia University School of the Arts 'turns up the heat' on its Jazz series with the Miller debut of Anat Cohen Quartet Saturday, February 11, 8:00 p.m.

Part of a new, yearlong arts and education initiative in Chicago, a benefit performance of "The People Speak, Live!" produced by Voices of a People's History takes place at Metro, Tuesday, January 31st, 2012. Bringing to life the extraordinary history of ordinary people who made the United States what it is today, the evening pairs Academy Award®-winner Matt Damon with local Chicago talent for dramatic readings and songs of the actual words of rebels, dissenters, and visionaries from America's past--and present.

A seven-years-and-counting fixture at New York's famed Café Carlyle (a spot he inherited from one of his mentors, the late Bobby Short), Steve Tyrell--a long-time behind-the-scenes music veteran-turned chart-topping jazz superstar--has returned to Orange County, California for a series of highly-entertaining shows at the Samueli Theatre as part of Segerstrom Center for the Arts' wonderful Cabaret Series through Sunday, January 8. On last night's episode of NBC's THE SING-OFF, Afro-Blue became the most recent group to be eliminated from the competition. On the show, the a cappella singing groups were challenged to sing a mash up of two songs which were related lyrically, as well as a song chosen by the judges.

There are only four groups remaining on NBC's THE SING-OFF and tonight they will compete for a spot in next week's final competition.
