New Line Theatre's Artistic Director Scott Miller Releases Book, 'Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll and Musicals'

New Line Theatre, 'the bad boy of musical theatre,' announces the release of artistic director Scott Miller's sixth book on musical theatre, SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL, AND MUSICALS, exploring these three powerful cultural forces and the musicals that tackle them - The Rocky Horror Show, Bat Boy, Grease, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, and many others - discovering what these works reveal about American culture and politics.

Charlotte Street Presents STRANGER FRIEND, November 10-13

Charlotte Street Foundation will present the world premiere of STRANGER FRIEND. This multi-media production weaves together choreography and video by Leralee Whittle, music compositions by Paul Sprawl, and performance by Whittle, Sprawl and Stephanie Fellner, all currently based in Minneapolis.

Kritzerland Re-Releases INSIDE OUT Album

Off-Broadway musical INSIDE OUT has just been re-released on Kritzerland Records. A therapy group, headed by group leader (Grace), is transformed forever when a new person (Dena) joins the group and winds up being a catalyst for change in the lives of (Sage) a flower child of the ‘80s, a powerful businesswoman (Liz), a gay, bank employee single mom (Chlo) of a teenage son, and (Molly), a mother of two young children who's dealing with weight issues. Featuring tuneful music by Adryan Russ and insightful lyrics by Russ and Doug Haverty, Inside Out, is every bit as timely today as it was when it premiered off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theater, where it received excellent reviews and praise for its amazing cast.

CTG's THE NIGHT WATCHER Begins Rehearsals

Rehearsals begin this week for 'The Night Watcher,' Charlayne Woodard's newest play, which will be produced at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre, November 17 through December 18, 2011. The opening is set for November 20. 'The Night Watcher,' written and performed by Woodard, will be directed by her frequent collaborator, Daniel Sullivan.

RAFT OF THE MEDUSA Opens 9-week Stripped Fest at Cherry Lane Theatre

A revised version of Joe Pintauro's 1991 play RAFT OF THE MEDUSA, being produced Off-Broadway this fall by the Barefoot Theatre Company, will kick off the 9-week Stripped Festival with performances beginning tonight through October 22 at Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Greenwich Village.

A revised version of Joe Pintauro's 1991 play RAFT OF THE MEDUSA, being produced Off-Broadway this fall by the Barefoot Theatre Company, will kick off the 9-week Stripped Festival this fall with performances through 22 at Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Greenwich Village. RAFT OF THE MEDUSA will be followed in the Stripped Festival by performances of Israel Horovitz's new work GLOUCESTER BLUE and the premiere of Randall Colburn's play VERSE CHORUS VERSE about a mystery surrounding the death of Kurt Cobain.
