Kimmel Center Completes Dorrance H. Hamilton Rooftop Garden Renovation

After a year-long renovation, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts reopens The Dorrance H. Hamilton Rooftop Garden to the public on September 4, 2012. The state-of-the-art rooftop garden renovation cost $5.7 million, and will be open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free public tours available when the garden is not being used for private functions.

New Work by Disabled and Deaf Artists Presented with London 2012 Paralympic Games, Beg. Aug 30

With just eight days to go until the start of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, London 2012 Festival presents a ground-breaking series of commissions by disabled and deaf artists in the Unlimited programme. Originally initiated as part of the Cultural Olympiad, the programme represents the largest ever series of commissions to disabled and deaf artists and celebrates their work on an unprecedented scale across the UK.

Production Begins on Catherine Hardwicke's PLUSH

Principal photography begins today in Los Angeles on erotic thriller PLUSH directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) and produced by Jason Blum, producer of the Paranormal Activity franchise. The picture is being financed by IM Global's genre label Octane.

THE GENESIS COLLECTION OF PLAYS, written by Don Nigro, will be performed in its entirety for the first time ever on stage at the One Sky Performance Space on 150 West 28th Street, 6th Floor in Manhattan.

Brooke Shields to Speak at Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation Luncheon, 10/17

Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation (LSCRF) today named model, movie star, TV actress, Broadway performer and bestselling author Brooke Shields as the newly-named Guest Speaker at its Annual Fall Benefit Luncheon on Wednesday, October 17th beginning at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Ave. (Diane Keaton, who was originally scheduled, cancelled due to a new movie commitment). Proceeds will support innovative contributions to breast cancer research and educational programs, as well as fellowships, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.

Davenport Developmental Reading Series Presents JEREMY DE BERGERAC Tonight, 8/6

Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) will present Joe Slabe's Jeremy de Bergerac as the tenth selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, for readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), tonight, August 6th at the Davenport Studio (250 West 49th Street, Suite 304, NYC). Jeremy de Bergerac is directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar. The performance will be at 8:00pm followed by a talk-back with the writer.
