'The dedication of these boys is unreal': Ruthie Henshall describes the commitment and dedication that the young actors who play Billy Elliot need in order to play the prized role. Olivier award-winning actor Ruthie Henshall joined the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical in May to play Billy's dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson.

According to the Daily Mail, the original Billy Elliot -- Liam Mower -- is returning to the musical for one night only as part of its BILLY ELLIOT LIVE special performance on September 28. The event will be broadcast in UK cinemas, live from the Victoria Palace Theatre. Mower, now 22, will play the grown-up Billy in the musical's fantasy sequence featuring young Billy dancing with his older self.

Today, 14 July 2014, 12-year-old Ollie Jochim from Chelmsford, Essex gives his first performance in the title role of the internationally award winning Billy Elliot the Musical. Ollie joins a cast lead by Ruthie Henshall who plays Mrs Wilkinson, Billy's dance teacher, and becomes the thirty-eighth boy to perform the iconic role at the Victoria Palace Theatre and the seventy-fifth boy to perform the role world-wide. Today we are talking to an accomplished and charismatic West End and Broadway star who originally made a name for herself as the title character in the infamous page-to-stage adaptation of Stephen King's CARRIE who has gone on to achieve acclaim for numerous starring roles in the UK ranging from JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT to CHICAGO as well as the original West End casts of THE SECRET GARDEN, MARY POPPINS, and, most recently, LONDON ROAD - Linzi Hateley. Today, 12 May 2014, nine years to the day since Billy Elliot the Musical officially opened at the Victoria Palace Theatre, eleven year old Matteo Zecca (Billy) and ten year old Kyria Cooper (Debbie) will have their first performance alongside new cast members Ruthie Henshall as Billy's dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson, Chris Grahamson who plays Billy's brother Tony and Barnaby Meredith who returns to the production to play Older Billy.

Memphis, the 2010 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, opens at the Capitol Theatre on Tuesday, May 27 for a limited engagement!
