Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson will be honored with a handprint-footprint ceremony at the Opening Night Gala of AFI Fest 2013 presented by Audi, featuring Disney's 'Saving Mr. Banks,' in which Thompson stars as 'Mary Poppins' author P.L. Travers, on Thursday, November 7th at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

On December 20, Disney's new biographical film about the making of Mary Poppins, SAVING MR. BANKS, will hit theatres. Starring Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman, Bradley Whitford, Annie Rose Buckley, Ruth Wilson, B.J. Novak, Rachel Griffiths and Kathy Baker, it opens in limited theaters on December 13. In the video below, Richard Sherman, one half of the songwriting team that scored the 1964 film, chats with CBS about creating the songs and bringing them back to life now.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, cast members from SAVING MR. BANKS will join together the night the film premieres at this year's AFI Fest in LA to lead a 'spirited singalong' of favorite songs from Disney's Mary Poppins.

Ruth Wilson (Saving Mr Banks, Anna Christie, A Streetcar Named Desire, Luther, The Lone Ranger) will star in the London premiere of The El. Train: three one-act plays by Eugene O'Neill (The Web, Before Breakfast and The Dreamy Kid). The plays, written between 1913 and 1918, are being presented together for the first time. Ruth will act in The Web and Before Breakfast, directed by Sam Yates, and will make her directorial debut with The Dreamy Kid. Combining live music with immersive design, all housed in the intimate setting of Grade II listed Hoxton Hall (built 1863, seating an audience of 125), The El. Train will run for a limited four-week season from 6 December - 30 December, with press nights on the 12 & 13 December. Design is by Richard Kent, with lighting by Neil Austin and original composition and sound design by Alex Baranowski. The El. Train is being produced by Found Productions. Further casting will be announced shortly.

According to the Daily Mail, Rita Moreno (West Side Story) is set for a Q&A on November 3 to talk about her role in the 1961 film adaptation of Tennessee Williams' SUMMER AND SMOKE. The discussion will take place at the BFI Southbank and is being held in honor of the film's director Peter Glenville.

The Daily Mail reports that Ruth Wilson (Saving Mr. Banks) will soon be starring onstage in two plays by Eugene O'Neill -- Before Breakfast and The Web. She will also make her theatre directorial debut with O'Neill's The Dreamy Kid. All of the pieces will be performed at Hoxton Hall in London, December 5-30, 2013.
