On July 7th the girls of Springfield High School received a fun surprise - at each performance a man is selected from the audience to portray the music teacher, Mr. Lee. Last night that participant happened to be Russell Tovey, star of Broadway's The History Boys, and well as HBO's "Looking". Also in the audience were Dee Hoty (Bright Star) and Nancy Opel (Honeymoon in Vegas, Urinetown) as well as Ace Young (American Idol, Broadway's Grease and Hair).

Jonathan Groff and his cast ran the rainbow of emotions at the world premiere of their 'Looking' movie Sunday night (June 26) at the historic Castro Theatre in San Francisco. Their picture, which will air July 23 on HBO, capped the 40th anniversary of the acclaimed Frameline LGBT film festival on Pride Weekend. And Groff said he could not have been prouder than to have 1,400 fans cheer the sold-out, crowd-pleasing finale to his two-year-old cable series about gay friends seeking sex and love.

The National Theatre confirms today that Susan Brown, Nathan Lane, James McArdle, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett will join Andrew Garfield, Denise Gough and Russell Tovey in the cast of Tony Kushner's Angels in America.

The Young Vic's critically-acclaimed Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge directed by Ivo van Hove, which opened to rave reviews at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre last fall, might be heading across the country. The LA Times' Charles McNulty writes in a recent interview with van Hove that the play will open at the Ahmanson Theatre in September. An official announcement has not yet been made.

The event was taped in front of a sold-out audience on Monday, January 11, with Frank's very special guest Jonathan Groff, who is currently starring on Broadway as King George in the smash hit HAMILTON. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season to determine the eligibility of six Broadway productions for the 2016 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2015-2016 season to decide the eligibility for the 70th Annual Tony Awards.
