One of the most acclaimed musicals of 2015 returns for a limited engagement. Beginning July 4th, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene [NYTF] presents an encore of the first Off-Broadway revival of the lost Yiddish-American hit operetta THE GOLDEN BRIDE (Di Goldene Kale).

OSF to Host Hip Hop Poetry Open Mic Series

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will host three free Hip Hop Poetry Open Mic events this spring on March 7, April 4 and May 9. All Hip Hop Poetry Open Mic events will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Black Swan on the OSF campus (15 S. Pioneer St., Ashland, OR 97520). Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; space is limited.

The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture is thrilled to celebrate the release of rapidly rising New York City poet Sarah Kay's newest book, The Type, with a night of poetry and surprise guests on Friday, March 4 at 7:30pm in the Sheen's Loreto Theater. In a rare hometown show, Kay will perform new poems and old favorites, including 'The Type,' the poem that 'explores the promise and complicated reality of being a woman' and which will now be available in a beautiful illustrated hardcover from Hachette Books. After the show, copies of The Type will be available for purchase and signing.

Now in its 101st season, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene [NYTF] presents the first Off-Broadway revival of the lost Yiddish American hit THE GOLDEN BRIDE (Di Goldene Kale). Featuring a cast of 20 and an orchestra of 14, this rare glimpse back into musical theater history began performances December 2 as part of NYTF's inaugural year in residency at the Museum of Jewish Heritage [MJH]. The production marks the first long-running, full-scale production hosted at the Museum's 375-seat Edmond J. Safra Hall. Performances run through January 3.

Campus Coach Lines has announced its plan for a new free-to-the-public bus service from Columbus Circle in Midtown Manhattan to the Museum of Jewish Heritage [MJH] in Battery Park City. In sync with Lower Manhattan's cultural renaissance, and part of ongoing efforts in increasing accessibility to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the bus service will commence this Thursday, December 17, shuttling patrons to the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's [NYTF] critically-acclaimed production of The Golden Bride.
