LES MIS' Amanda Seyfried to Star in Supernatural Thriller BLACK LUNG

2929 Productions and Emily Ziff and Sara Murphy of Cooper's Town Productions announced today that Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Ted 2) and Theo James (The Divergent Series: Insurgent) are set to star in the supernatural thriller BLACK LUNG.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has just announced that film star Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Dear John, Mamma Mia!, upcoming Ted 2 and Pan) will make her off- Broadway debut opposite Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild, upcoming in NBC's The Slap) in the upcoming world premiere production of NEIL LaBUTE's drama, THE WAY WE GET BY. Directed by Tony nominee LEIGH SILVERMAN, the production will begin previews on April 28, 2015 and officially open on May 20, 2015 at Second Stage Theatre, 305 West 43rd Street.

Official: BEACHES Musical Set for Pre-Broadway Run in Chicago This Summer

Kyle DeSantis, President of Drury Lane Theatre, announces today that the Broadway-bound production, BEACHES will replace DEATHTRAP from June 24 through August 16 during the 2015-2016 season. Warner Bros. Pictures Acquires Russell Crowe's THE WATER DIVINER

Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that it has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Academy Award winner Russell Crowe's ('Gladiator') directorial debut, from RatPac Entertainment, 'The Water Diviner,' which the Studio will release in select U.S. theaters on April 24, 2015. Museum of the Moving Image is pleased to announce a special screening of the adventure epic Noah followed by a discussion with director Darren Aronofsky and singer/songwriter Patti Smith in person on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at the Museum. Smith's soulful, haunting song "Mercy Is," her first original song written for the screen, is featured in the film. CABARET LIFE NYC: Reaction to the Recent Rita Wilson and Molly Ringwald Cafe Carlyle Shows Reveal Much About How We View Singing Celebrities

Rita Wilson and Molly Ringwald deserve a lot of credit for being gutsy enough to go out of their comfort zones as performers and venture into the intimate, sometimes scary art from known as cabaret, where you're always live and can't rely on extra takes. It's also obvious that they've worked very hard at becoming the best vocalists they can possibly be. They have just as much right to live out their cabaret performing fantasies as, oh, about 75 percent of the 'singers' booking shows in cabaret room all over the New York. If Wilson and Ringwald weren't bold-faced names would their singing really be considered good enough to merit them gigs (and extended ones at that) at the Cafe Carlyle? And if they weren't celebrities, would they be receiving such breathlessly positive reviews from critics, some of who should know better?
