Film editor Thomas Stanford, best known for his Academy Award-winning work on WEST SIDE STORY, passed away on Saturday, December 30th at the age of 93.

Jerome Robbins, world renowned for his work as a choreographer and director of ballet and theater, film and television, would have been 100 years old on October 11, 2018. In honor of his life and legacy, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, partnering with other institutions across the country and around the world, will celebrate his centennial year through Spring 2019.

Nick Ebeling's ALONG FOR THE RIDE is a revealing portrait of Dennis Hopper and journey through a 47 year friendship and brotherhood with right-hand man Satya de la Manitou. The film premiered at the 2016 Venice Film Festival and went on to play the 2017 Il Cinema Ritrovato festival, inspiring the current 'restoration in progress' for Hopper's passion project THE LAST MOVIE.

The Matthew Bourne / New Adventures production of 'The Red Shoes,' presented by Center Theatre Group and Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, is making its American premiere now through October 1, 2017 in Los Angeles. Trepany House at the Steve Allen Theater is excited to announce the first public showing of Derrick C. Brown and Amanda Rafkin's new musical 300 Bones. After selling out the initial show on August 12th, they have added another show on August 11th at 8pm, which will act as the show's first workshop concert.

Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 33rd season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, continues its summer season with 'West Side Story,' the explosive musical retelling of the Romeo and Juliet story set against the backdrop of rival street gangs in 1950s New York City. Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center in Danbury July 7 through 22, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:30 p.m., with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday, July 13 and 20.

In a recent interview with Daily Beast, playwright Tony Kushner chats about one of his current projects- WEST SIDE STORY. Kushner is rewriting the book for the classic movie for director Steven Spielberg. Don't expect any changes to the score, however. "I am not touching in any way the greatest score of a musical ever written,' says Kushner. 'I love the [1961] film. Who doesn't? I am not changing the story, the setting, the period. It is still the Upper West Side in the late 1950s, but I'm exploring the story.'
