Kennedy Center Expansion Project Receives Major Gifts

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced additional major gifts for the Kennedy Center Expansion Project, the institution's first new construction since opening in 1971.

Windy City Playhouse Sets 2016 Season

Windy City Playhouse, Chicago's newest professional theater, located at 3014 W. Irving Park Road, is proud to announce its second season in 2016. The three-show season comprises: the Chicago premiere of Nell Benjamin's slapstick farce The Explorers Club, directed by David H. Bell, starting January 27; Melissa James Gibson's 'unromantic comedy' This, directed by Carl Menninger, starting June 15; and the Chicago premiere of Jeff Daniels' gentle romance Apartment 3A directed by Ron OJ Parson, beginning October 5. Heidi Latsky Dance to Hold Auditions for New Piece at NYU's Skirball Center, Today

New York, NY, August 11, 2015 – Heidi Latsky Dance is seeking diverse, unique performers for its new piece entitled On Display: Impact Through Movement Installations, created in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  On Display will be a living gallery focusing on the themes of inclusion and diversity. Auditions will be held onMonday, September 8 at noon at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.  Auditions are ADA accessible.

Cast Set for American Premiere of TRUCK STOP at Crowded Fire Theater This Fall

Crowded Fire Theater (CFT) is pleased to announce the cast and creative team and dates for the American Premiere of TRUCK STOP by Lachlan Philpott, opening Monday October 5, 8 pm running through October 24 at the Thick House in San Francisco's Potrero Hill. Directed by Marilee Talkington, this production marks Lachlan Philpott's first fully produced play in the United States. Philpott is an award-winning playwright in Australia whose plays have been extensively developed at American theaters including San Francisco's ACT, Crowded Fire Theater and the Magic.

Megan Fairchild Exits ON THE TOWN Today; NYC Ballet Soloist Georgina Pazcoguin Takes Over

New York City Ballet principal dancer and Theatre World Award Winner Megan Fairchild will depart the Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN on August 9 to return to the NYC Ballet. Fairchild will be succeeded by New York City Ballet soloist Georgina Pazcoguin, who will step into the role of 'Ivy Smith' for performances from August 11 - 23. Beginning August 25,Misty Copeland will make her Broadway debut as 'Ivy Smith' for 12 performances only, through September 6.
