Heidi Latsky Dance to Hold Auditions for New Piece at NYU's Skirball Center, 9/8

Heidi Latsky Dance is seeking diverse, unique performers for its new piece entitled On Display: Impact Through Movement Installations, created in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. On Display will be a living gallery focusing on the themes of inclusion and diversity. Auditions will be held on Tuesday,September 8 at noon at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Auditions are ADA accessible.

The company is seeking disabled and transgender performers, models and performers over 6 feet tall. All ages and ethnicities are welcome to audition. No formal dance experience is required. Movement installations will involve focus, stillness and structured improvisation. Performers must be available for performances on October 1st and November 15th.

On Display will be presented at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center on October 1; and at NYU Skirball on November 15 as part of an evening of dance featuring Heidi Latsky Dance and Axis Dance Company.

Heidi Latsky Dance (HLD) is a New York-based modern dance company dedicated to creating provocative, highly technical and physically adventurous dance under the artistic direction of Heidi Latsky, a longtime principal member of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Since its inception, the company has received numerous awards, commissions and residencies. Heidi Latsky Dance premiered in 2001 with a Joyce Theater Residency and its first sold-out run of JUST WATCH!, presented by Danspace Project in NYC. A variety of work followed, at venues around the world.
