President and Mrs. Obama hosted an all-star music tribute 'A Celebration of American Creativity: In Performance at the White House,' celebrating the cultural resonance of art and literature in unique American musical forms, featuring performances by Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and hosted by Carol Burnett.

2016 Richard Tucker Opera Gala 'FROM BOCELLI TO BARTON' to Air on PBS as Part of Live From Lincoln Center

LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER - the multiple Emmy Award-winning performing arts series that for more than 40 years has showcased the best of the wide-ranging programming from the world's leading performing arts center - will broadcast the opera world's most highly anticipated event of the season on February 5, 2016. The annual Richard Tucker Music Foundation Gala concert features some of opera's biggest stars, including Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Angela Gheorghiu, Isabel Leonard, Christine Goerke, Lawrence Brownlee, Stephen Costello, Nadine Sierra, and Piotr Bezcala, along with this year's Richard Tucker Award winner, Jamie Barton. Supporting the singers will be members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and New York Choral society under the baton of Eugene Kohn. Live From Lincoln Center's 'From Bocelli to Barton: The Richard Tucker Opera Gala' will air on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. on PBS (check local listings), and will be hosted by Audra McDonald.

The cast includes Gabrielle McClinton as Leading Player; Brian Flores as Pippin; John Rubinstein, who played the role of Pippin in the original Bob Fosse-directed Broadway production, as Charles; Sabrina Harper as Berthe; Bradley Benjamin as Catherine; and Kate Wesler as Fastrada.

Melbourne Theatre Company to Open 2016 Season with LADIES IN BLACK

Melbourne Theatre Company opens its 2016 season in glittering fashion with the glorious new musical Ladies in Black, a celebration of glamour, gowns and growing up in 1950s Australia. Adapted from the Madeleine St John novel, The Women in Black, and brought to life by director Simon Phillips with songs by Tim Finn (Split Enz, Crowded House), this QTC production opens on Wednesday 20 January at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner.

Mayor to Host Concert Fundraiser at Irvington Town Hall Theater

Irvington Town Hall Theater is pleased to announce a wonderful fundraiser created and sponsored by Irvington Mayor, Brian C. Smith. On Saturday, December 12th at 7pm, the Mayor presents: Under the Covers on a Cold December Night. RACHMANINOFF: A PHILHARMONIC FESTIVAL, Featuring Daniil Trifonov, Begins Tonight

The New York Philharmonic will present Rachmaninoff: A Philharmonic Festival, tonight, November 10-28, 2015, featuring 24-year-old Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov performing three of the composer's piano concertos and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini over the course of three consecutive all-Rachmaninoff programs, each led by a different conductor: Cristian Macelaru (in his Philharmonic debut), Neeme Jarvi, and Ludovic Morlot.

New York Philharmonic Releases Schedule for 2015 Holiday Season

The New York Philharmonic's 2015 holiday season presents classic masterpieces and seasonal favorites, the Philharmonic's Artist-in-Residence and Artist-in-Association as well as debuts, and continuing and new traditions. This schedule includes the 20th annual Holiday Brass concert, featuring the return of the Canadian Brass, which helped launch the event in 1995, alongside the New York Philharmonic Principal Brass Quintet; Handel's Messiah, led by Jane Glover in her New York Philharmonic debut; Oh, What Fun! A Philharmonic Holiday, led by Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Courtney Lewis and featuring the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Eric Owens performing “You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and a carol sing-along; and New Year's Eve: La Vie Parisienne, led by Alan Gilbert and featuring mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, Artist-in-Association Inon Barnatan, and pianist Makoto Ozone. The New Year's Eve concert will be telecast live nationally on Live From Lincoln Center on PBS stations.
