59E59 Theaters will welcome Chicago's A Red Orchid Theatre, in association with Bisno Productions, with the NYC premiere of THE OPPONENT, written by Brett Neveu and directed by Karen Kessler. THE OPPONENT begins performances on Thursday, July 31 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 7. Press opening is Wednesday, August 6 at 7:30 PM.

Commissioned by the Finborough Theatre from Cerberus Theatre, the UK premiere and the English world premiere of controversial German playwright Rolf Hochhuth's Sommer 14 - A Dance of Death in a brand new translation opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season today, 5 August 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 7 August at 7.30pm).

This enchanting musical tells the tale of Dorothy Gale (Devon Perry), who lives on a Kansas farm with her aunt and uncle and dreams of one day traveling 'Over The Rainbow'. One day, a tornado sweeps her house up into the sky and Dorothy and her little dog Toto suddenly find themselves in the magical Land of Oz! Dorothy joins Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion and they journey through the magical Land of Oz to meet the Wizard and obtain their hearts' desires.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company brings two productions by the Isango Ensemble to Washington, D.C., as part of STC's 2014-2015 Presentation Series. The Isango Ensemble's unique performances reset Western theatre classics within a South African township, utilizing music, dance and elements of South African heritage. The Ensemble will perform an adaption of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute- Impempe Yomlingo and Shakespeare's epic love poem Venus and Adonis in repertory at the Lansburgh Theatre September 12-21, 2014. Tickets for non-subscribers will be available starting August 1, when individual tickets for the 2014-2015 STC Season go on sale.

Forgotten Voices, a play by Malcolm McKay based on the best-selling book Forgotten Voices of the Great War by Max Arthur, which is being staged at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is holding a special commemorative performance at 10.30pm on 4 August, which will end at midnight, to mark the exact centenary of the outbreak of WWI.

A.R. Gurney's enduring romance about first loves and second chances, LOVE LETTERS, will have its first Broadway revival, beginning performances Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 8pm, at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41 Street).

While construction continues and St. Ann's works to raise the final $2 million of its $30 million capital campaign, the organization will present a stellar final season in its temporary home at 29 Jay Street in DUMBO. It kicks off this October when TR Warszawa and director Grzegorz Jarzyna return for the American Premiere of their internationally acclaimed production of Sarah Kane's 4:48 Psychosis, which St. Ann's Founder / Artistic Director Susan Feldman has wanted to bring to New York since she first saw it in February 2004 -- the same year St. Ann's presented the American Premiere of the original Royal Court production of Kane's play. St. Ann's Warehouse also announced the following season highlights today: Emma Rice and Kneehigh, The Wooster Group, the Slovenian choral group Carmina Slovenica, and The Tiger Lillies.

The producers of Forgotten Voices, a play by Malcolm McKay based on the best-selling book Forgotten Voices of the Great War by Max Arthur, are delighted to announce the cast and special guest artists for the show's run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014. The acclaimed stars of stage and screen who will be appearing as guest artists* are: Julian Sands and Robert Vaughn (30 July - 6 August), Christopher Timothy (14 - 18 August), Robert Powell (14 and 15 August), James Fleet (20 - 25 August) and Celia Imrie (20 - 22 August). In a coup for South Australia, it has been announced that the great British director Peter Brook's production of The Suit will play exclusively in Adelaide for State Theatre Company in October. Exclusivity for the Australian premiere has been secured with the support of the South Australian Tourism Commission, which will also support a targeted marketing campaign to theatre-goers from Melbourne and Sydney.

Broadway producer, Karen Walter Goodwin, has died from complications of color cancer surgery on June 30. She was 66 years old.

Pryce, a Tony and Olivier winner, will play the High Sparrow. His character is described as: 'A devout and pious man, the High Sparrow came to King's Landing to serve those forgotten by much of the world - the poor, the downtrodden and the infirm - and quickly amassed a large following. His fellow believers have swarmed over the city, ministering to the lowest and decrying the corruption of the highest.'
