THE AUDIENCE, with Kristin Scott Thomas, to Premiere in London, April 21

Kristin Scott Thomas will play the Queen in a new version of Peter Morgan's The Audience. Stephen Daldry's production will preview at the Apollo Theatre from 21 April 2015, with press night on 5 May 2015 and is booking to 25 July 2015. Tickets are released for sale today (31 October 2014). The Audience has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby. Further casting to be announced.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Jez Butterworth's The River, which officially opens on Broadway this November starring Hugh Jackman. The play originally premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London, October 2012.

$35 access seats for the first week of performances of The River will be available for purchase starting this Monday, October 27 at 10:00 AM at the Circle in the Square Theatre box office (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The production begins previews on Friday, October 31 at Circle in the Square (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue) and will play three performances for the week ending Sunday, November 2.

Sundance Institute Sets Projects, Artists for Fall Theatre Labs

Sundance Institute today announced the projects and artists that will participate in its two Fall artist development programs: the inaugural Playwrights Studio at Flying Point in Water Mill, NY (October 19-26), as well as the two-week Theatre Lab (November 30 - December 14) for musical theatre, ensemble-generated projects and solo work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA). Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the initiatives are among the Theatre Program's five annual Labs and Residencies for theatre artists and part of the 24 artist residency labs across many creative disciplines Sundance Institute offers annually.

Producers Howard Panter and John Frost today announced that beloved theatre and television performer Bert Newton would play the Narrator in the Sydney season of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. The River, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman,Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumboand directed by Ian Rickson, begins preview performances in four weeks on Friday, October 31 and will open on Sunday, November 16 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. The production will play a strictly limited 13-week engagement through Sunday, January 25, 2015. The cast just met the press this week, and BroadwayWorld was there for the special day.
