Carole J. Bufford, Liz Callaway, Jeff Harnar and More Set for The Crazy Coqs, Jan-Feb 2014

2014 sees some new names and some returns to The Crazy Coqs. January starts with the London debut of the sizzling cabaret performer Carole J .Bufford and her show Body and Soul (January 7 - 11) followed by the popular Broadway star Brent Barrett and his show Night Songs (January 14 -18) and then actress and singer Linda Purl with her show Midnight Caravan: Celebrating the Great Ladies of the Glamorous Nightclub Era of the 40s & 50s (January 21 - 25).

ATG Acquires London's Savoy, Playhouse Theatres

The Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd (ATG) today announces that it has completed a deal to acquire 100% ownership of the Savoy and Playhouse theatres in London's West End from its current partners.

Photo Coverage: Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch Play Bemelman's Bar at Carlyle Hotel

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel this month with their evening of swinging standards. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. During their November run at Bemelmans, the duo received critical acclaim, and made news when rock legend Bono joined them in an impromptu performance. Check out photos from their concert below!

Roxy Regional Theatre Presents PLAID TIDINGS for the Holidays, Now thru 12/14

You'll be dreaming of a 'Plaid' Christmas this holiday season when the boys from Forever Plaid return to the Roxy Regional Theatre! At first Frankie, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren't sure why they've returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they're needed to put a little four-part harmony into a discordant holiday.

Tomlinson Artistic Director of Theatre for Youth, A CHRISTMAS CAROL has become a tradition for many families around the southeast. Opening night is Wednesday, December 4, 7:00 p.m.

THE LYONS Plays Round House Theatre, Now thru 12/22

Round House Theatre's 2013/14 season reaches its halfway point with the DC area premiere of Nicky Silver's The Lyons. John Vreeke directs this hit comedy, which runs tonight, November 27 thru December 22 at Round House Theatre Bethesda. Opening night is Monday, December 2, 2013.

John Aylward and Dearbhla Molloy Join MTC's OUTSIDE MULLINGAR

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) just announced complete casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming world premiere of OUTSIDE MULLINGAR, the new play by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art to Display Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Crèche for Holiday Season

The Christmas tree and Neapolitan Baroque crèche at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a long-standing yuletide tradition in New York, will be on view for the holiday season, fromNovember 26, 2013, through January 6, 2014. The brightly lit, 20-foot blue spruce—with a collection of 18th-century Neapolitan angels and cherubs hovering among its boughs and groups of realistic crèche figures flanking the Nativity scene at its base—will once again delight holiday visitors in the Museum's Medieval Sculpture Hall. Set in front of the 18th-century Spanish choir screen from the Cathedral of Valladolid, with selected Christmas music in the background and daily lighting ceremonies, the installation reflects the spirit of the holiday season.

All Aboard Florida Announces Fort Lauderdale Station Location

Planning and design is underway for the Fort Lauderdale station - one of four planned along the All Aboard Florida route. The station development will include a multi-story lobby which will accommodate ticketing and luggage handling. The lobby will connect to an elevated passenger lounge with comfortable seating and food and beverage offerings for customers. The facility will also accommodate other transportation systems so passengers can conveniently reach their end destinations. The selected station location was chosen to provide convenient connections to the Sun Trolley, Broward County Transit system and the future Wave Streetcar.

Julie Harris Memorial Celebration Set for 12/3 at Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre

There will be a memorial celebration of the actress, Julie Harris, on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, starting at 12 noon at the Barnard B. Jacobs Theatre on 242 West 45th Street. Among her friends gathering to celebrate Miss Harris will be Zoe Caldwell, Rosemary Harris, Cherry Jones, Hal Holbrook and Christopher Plummer. The public is welcome.
