Mark White Octet Celebrates Album Release at The Black Box

Celebrate the release of the Mark White Octet's debut recording with a live performance at THE BLACK BOX, downtown Franklin's theater, music and event venue, at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 1. Broadway Themed Cocktails Take Center Stage at Kimmel Center Cultural Campus at Volver Restaurant

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Garces Restaurant Group, is excited to announce brand new custom cocktails for the Broadway Philadelphia 2017-18 season. Volv r, the Kimmel Center's in-house restaurant from Iron Chef Jose Garces, will now exclusively serve drinks specially designed by its mixologists that represent show-stopping themes from the lineup. Philadelphians are invited to indulge in these encore-worthy creations inside Volv r during the run of its corresponding show, or craft up a one-of-a kind creation at home using the recipe guide.

The Met Celebrates The Holiday Season With Performances, Events, And Special Displays

The Met continues a beloved holiday tradition with the presentation of its Christmas Tree and 18th-Century Neapolitan Cr che, which will be on view from November 21, 2017 January 7, 2018. Magnificently set in front of the 18th-century Spanish choir screen from the Cathedral of Valladolid in the Museum's Medieval Sculpture Hall (gallery 305), the tree has become a must-see holiday favorite of both New Yorkers and visitors from around the world. Recorded Christmas music and daily lighting events add to the enjoyment of the holiday display.

Michael Moore Among Artists Recognized At United Solo Festival Gala

United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, concluded its eighth season with a Gala at Theatre Row in New York. Throughout its ten-week run, the festival offered 120 stage productions, representing six continents, performed mostly in English, but also in Bulgarian, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and in the category of physical theatre through body language. Nearly 60 shows sold out, and were presented several times due to popular demand. Fiona Show called United Solo 'the mecca of the solo shows in the world.' This past season, the festival presented productions created by new talents, as well as show business veterans, including Oscar winner Milton Justice and Emmy winner Bill Oberst Jr. This year's festival also offered Master Classes led by Pau Aran Gimeno, a performer at Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch; James Lecesne, an actor, activist, author of the screenplay for an Oscar-winning film; and Austin Pendleton, a renowned actor and director, and a recipient of the Drama Desk Special Award.

Farquhar Links Up With BBC Poet In Residence Stuart Paterson for A PLAY, A POET & A PASTRY

Acclaimed playwright Simon Farquhar and BBC Scotland's Poet in Residence Stuart Paterson are joining forces on a project bringing world premiere drama to Scotland's oldest working theatre. The pair are teaming up for A Play, A Poet & A Pastry an initiative by Bunbury Banter Theatre Company in partnership with the Theatre Royal, Dumfries, which takes place on Friday, 24 November.
