Okay! Those of us that know, the cabaret stages of New York City are as limited in scope as the imagination of producers and performers. And let's face it, in this city, ANYTHING GOES!!! So the NYC Cabaret Festival made sure it had its share of acts beyond the traditional piano /singer standards and revues. With two weeks, three stages and over two hundred performing artist, there truly is something for everyone.

AARP reports that singer Linda Ronstadt has revealed that she suffers from Parkinson's disease, which has affected her ability to perform for some time. Diagnosed eight months ago, Ronstadt told the organization that she 'can't sing a note' and that she realizes now she had started to show symptoms years ago.

The 2013 NYC Cabaret Festival - to be held September 21 through October 6, 2013, on three stages (Broadway Cafe, The Red Room, and Broadway Comedy Club Main Stage) - will have a series of shows, workshops and performance opportunities just for Kids and Teens and Families. On Sunday, September 22, 2013 The Capital Jazz Orchestra and New York City clarinet virtuoso Ken Peplowski will salute the 75rd anniversary of this momentous concert…recreating that very show, to the minute! Benny Goodman's 1938 show at Carnegie Hall in New York has been billed as the world's most famous jazz concert, a ground-breaking event that brought jazz into the mainstream. The concert featured such swing icons as Lionel Hampton, Harry James, Gene Krupa, Count Basie, Lester Young and Johnny Hodges and included such timeless jazz classics as "Don't Be That Way," "Avalon," and the iconic swing performance of "Sing, Sing, Sing."

Today, August 15th, 2013, another entertainment legend, Miss Rose Marie, joins a remarkable sorority of fellow nonagenarian friends and colleagues including Carol Channing, Betty White, Angela Lansbury, and has chosen to celebrate by asking fans to help her TV co-star and dear friend, Doris Day, with donations to the 'Doris Day Animal Foundation'. 'It is the finest organization that I know, taking care of God's finest creations - animals,' remarks Miss Marie.

Today, this veteran of major jazz festivals from Montreux, Switzerland, to the Newport Jazz Festival in New York City, is also carving out his own niche as founder and leader of The Dave Stahl Big Band. Fresh off the heels with rave reviews for his conducting debut with the Pasadena POPS, Michael Feinstein returns to lead the orchestra in a performance celebrating the legendary films of MGM. Michael Feinstein's MGM Movie Classics tonight, July 13 features rare and stunning arrangements from the golden age of the silver screen, and the orchestra will be joined by guest vocalists Ron Raines, Christine Ebersole, the cast of Hollywood Revisited, and the Debbie Allen Dance Academy Tap Ensemble.

Pasadena Symphony Association President Diane Rankin and Chief Executive Officer Paul Jan Zdunek today announced the extension of Principal Pops Conductor Michael Feinstein's contract through 2016. His current contract was for a 1-year term, but fresh off the heels with rave reviews for his conducting debut to capacity crowds on June 1st, the leadership of the Pasadena Symphony Association immediately offered Feinstein a multi-year contract extension. The decision represents a confident commitment to Feinstein and support for his vision for the Pasadena POPS Summer Concert Series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre's hit cabaret of over 30 songs by songwriter Cole Porter will be extended for an additional six weeks, running the rest of the summer. Artistic Director Fred Anzevino announced the extension on Tuesday, July 2.
