2013 NYC Cabaret Festival Announces JUST FOR KIDS Series

The 2013 NYC Cabaret Festival - to be held September 21 through October 6, 2013, on three stages (Broadway Café, The Red Room, and Broadway Comedy Club Main Stage) - will have a series of shows, workshops and performance opportunities just for Kids and Teens and Families. Tickets for the shows and workshops run $15 at the door and just $10 in advance online (Ovationtix 866-811-4111). Some shows require a beverage purchase. No additional purchase required for classes and workshop productions.

The festival features two "World Premier" Workshop productions. Just to prove not all holiday stories occur in December, The Staged Reading of "27 Santas and an Elf Called Kevin" delivers an all new mythology for some great classic characters. Even Santa has drama, but never fear, Kevin the Elf is here. This musical pantomime - funny for kids of all ages - is the creation of British Team Andy Street (American Idol, Madeline, Strawberry Shortcake, Double Dragon) and Jonothan Kydd. Produced by RAndy Donaldson (Triassic Parq, Pee Wee Herman Show and The Scottsboro Boys), Marc Jacobson (Producer & Entertainment Lawyer) and John Velasco (Intrnational Music & TV Producer). Also making its debut is a show about to tour K-5 schools nationwide, "Stop Bullying Now!" The interactive edutainment - created by Laurice Fattal - features high impact slam poetry, skits based on true stories, and informative game show.

Bring the whole family to see Magic by Randy Masters, Justin Wood Circus, Urbano Circus, and Improv 4 Kids. For the younger Broadway Fans, take you future stars to one of our many Matinees by Cabaret Singers. Cabaret equally entertains and educates about music and the singing voice. In the intimate setting of the cabaret café you get every word, every note and every nuance. All of these shows run jest 60 minutes or less and provide and amazing experience for all audiences young, old and in between.

For the future star in your family The NYC Cabaret Festival will present master classes (Improv, Stand-Up Comedy, Singing) and the "Cabaret Kids" showcase for singers, comics, actors/actresses and variety acts. Do you have a future David Copperfield, Rosemary Clooney, or George Carlin under your roof? Submit now to have them perform. Our cabaret café has a grand piano for the singers. Drop in Classes include Comedy 4 Kids, Comedy 4 Teens, and Cabaret 4 Kids/Teens. Also, many of the JUST FOR KIDS performances include talk back sessions.
