GODSPELL in Danger of June 24th Closing?

Those who closely follow Broadway Grosses have been keeping an eye on GODSPELL's numbers as of late and wondering what the future held for the musical, which was recently announced for a performance on Sunday night's Tonys. Lead producer Ken Davenport has shed some light on the show's health in a new blog entry noting that after a slew of recent promotions ranging from 'Pay Your Age' to the 'Cast of 2032' and a Fan Appreciation Day:

Manhattan Youth Ballet Presents June Show, 6/8-9

Manhattan Movement & Arts Center presents Manhattan Youth Ballet's June Show from June 8 - 9, 2012. Performances: Friday and Saturday at 7pm. The performances will take place at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center at 248 W. 60th Street, NYC (between Amsterdam and West End Avenues) in the Lincoln Center area. Tickets are $25 ($15 for students) and are available here.

Confirmed! GODSPELL to Perform at 2012 Tony Awards

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the revival of GODSPELL on Broadway, despite a lack of Tony nominations, will make an appearance on the 2012 broadcast to perform a selection from the musical. At this time, there is no official word or confirmation on who, or what the cast will be performing.

GODSPELL Adds June 8 Matinee

On Friday, June 8, GODSPELL will play a special added matinee performance at 3 p.m.

FRECKLEFACE THE MUSICAL to Close Off-Broadway July 1

FRECKLEFACE THE MUSICAL, the off Broadway family hit based on the popular children's book "Freckleface Strawberry" by actress Julianne Moore, will close at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center (MMAC Theatre) on Sunday, July 1st following a long run which initially began on October 1st, 2010 at New World Stages. The musical subsequently closed at NWS on April 24th, 2011 and reopened at the MMAC Theatre on November 8th, 2011.

Rose Caiola, who is the producer and co-writer of the off-Broadway musical hit "Freckleface The Musical" (based on the popular children's book by Julianne Moore) and also made her Broadway debut as a producer this year with "Godspell" at Circle in the Square, now adds film to her growing resume with "First Position," a film by director Bess Kargman, for which she serves as Executive Producer. The film which has received rave reviews across the country was screened this past weekend at the Elinor Bunin Monroe Theatre/Film Society of Lincoln Center on West 65th Street. Last night at the Circle in the Square Theatre, Broadway and 'Weeds' star Hunter Parrish ended his run as Jesus in the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's GODSPELL. The show welcomes a new leading man-stage and screen star Corbin Bleu (Disney's 'High School Musical,' Broadway's In the Heights)-to the starring role.
