Babak Anvari's psychological thriller UNDER THE SHADOW has been selected as the United Kingdom's Foreign Language Academy Award entry for 2016. The film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and which has had an extensive festival run, will be released by Vertigo Releasing in the U.K. on September 23rd and by XYZ Films and Vertical in the U.S. on October 7th. Vertical Entertainment and XYZ Films are releasing the film theatrically in North America and globally on digital platforms.
Hamilton Tony-winner Leslie Odom Jr. joined the cast of the hit immersive theater spectacle Sleep No More in the role of 'The Doctor' for a surprise, one-night-only appearance on Thursday, August 4 in New York City. Masked audience members had the opportunity to follow Leslie's journey through The McKittrick Hotel and among its 100 rooms, where this mash-up of Macbeth and the film noirs of the 1930s unfolds nightly. In the past, one-night-only guest stars of Sleep No More have also included Neil Patrick Harris, Alan Cumming, Sara Bareilles, Aaron Paul, Dita von Teese, Evan Rachel Wood, and the gents from Flight of the Concords, among many others.
On Monday, July 18th, Aaron Paul, his wife Lauren, actor/singer Troye Sivan, and model Jacob Bixenman turned the popular immersive theater experience SLEEP NO MORE (now in its fifth hit year at The McKittrick Hotel in NYC) into a scene out of 'Mr. Robot' as they donned SLEEP NO MORE's now-famous masks (which all audience members wear while attending the performance) and took to the streets of Chelsea, NYC for a homage to the 'F Society' characters (who also don masks) on the red-hot Emmy-nominated TV show.
