Mildred's Umbrella Theatre Company proudly presents our Houston area premier of Kimberly Akimbo, by Pulitzer Prize- winning playwright, David Lindsay Abaire. The show will be directed by veteran Houston director, Ron Jones, starring Carolyn Boone, Kim Tobin-Lehl, Jennifer Decker, Luke Fedell and Ty Doran. The performances will run November 29 thru December 15, 2012 at Studio 101 at Spring Street Studios.

Nestled in a fantastic and beautiful venue, Mildred's Umbrella's passionate and heart-filled troupe of gifted performers present Steve Yockley's LARGE ANIMAL GAMES until July 14, 2012. The quasi-edgy play tells the story of six people whose lives are somewhat enmeshed and the lingerie shop that several of them frequent, all the while using lingerie and the hunting of large game animals as metaphors that ask the audience to look beyond the exterior and to the interior of themselves and others.

The album will be released on CD, digital download and 12" vinyl. "Ellington didn't consider his own arrangements to be sacred,' says Jackson. 'He constantly reworked them, sometimes quite radically. I think my approach is in the spirit of the man himself."

The Marsh presents Charlie Varon & Jeri Lynn Cohen's FWD: Life Gone Viral, coming back April 19, 2012! FWD: LIFE GONE VIRAL is a comedy that skewers the brave new world of Internet exhibitionism. Cohen and Varon play an oncologist, her patient, their ex-spouses and an expert commentator each. Marriage, divorce, child-rearing, terminal illness, transmogrified flies and beef jerky all find their way into the play.

SECONDARY IMPACT, a play with dance, will have an industry only invited rehearsal on Thursday, March 15 in NYC. Conceived and choreographed by JoAnn M. Hunter (ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER), the piece has music by David Dabbon (SONDHEIM AND SONDHEIM), book by Christine Toy Johnson (TRANSCENDING -THE WAT MISAKA STORY), and is directed by Tony-award winning actress, Michele Pawk. The cast includes Tony Award nominated actress Charlotte D'Amboise (A CHORUS LINE, CHICAGO), Philip Michael Baskerville (THE PRODUCERS, CATS), Brian O'Brien (CHICAGO), Deidre Goodwin (SILENCE: THE MUSICAL, A CHORUS LINE), Miquel Jarquin-Moreland ("Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"), Dharon Jones, Kristine Bendul, Colin Bradbury, Todd Burnsed, Lisa Gajda, Liz Ramos, and Ryan Worsing. In celebration of the upcoming Black History month and in keeping with their traditions of exploring and discovering cultural freedoms and expressions, Hart House is pleased to host an evening of performance and discussion. Told through a series of comedic sketches,The Black-Jew Dialogues features Larry Jay Tish and Ron Jones as they take the audience on a hysterical and poignant ride through a discussion of their own experiences, the history of their people, and why there has been a growing rift between the two groups since the early 70's. Through their stories the audience gains insight to the true nature of prejudice and how our inability to face our own biases separates us in ways that we may not even think about.
