Irish Arts Center Announces Fall Season Of Music, Film, Theatre And Dance

The Irish Arts Center, a New York venue dedicated to the evolving arts and culture of Ireland and Irish America, today announced its Fall 2009 season of Performance (live music, film, literary events, theatre and dance engagements), Exhibition (at the IAC Gallery and traveling) and Education (over 27 classes in Irish language, dance and music for adults and children).

The Classical Theater of Harlem (CTH) presents the Off-Broadway premiere of Archbishop Supreme Tartuffe by Alfred Preisser & Randy Weiner, directed by CTH Co-Founder & Artistic Director, Alfred Preisser. Performances will begin June 12th and run through July 19th only at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues).

L.A. Theatre Works Airs A Huey P. Newton Story On KPCC 89.3 FM 5/16

This weekend, beginning May 16, L.A. Theatre Works will air its production of A Huey P. Newton Story, written and performed by Roger Guenveur Smith. The broadcast of A Huey P. Newton Story can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10pm to midnight on KPCC 89.3 FM, and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

Theater Of Harlem Presents 'THREE SISTERS,' Opens 2/18

The OBIE, Drama Desk and Lortel Award-winning Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) will begin their 10th Anniversary Season with a new production of Anton Chekhov's classic THREE SISTERS, directed by CTH Co-Founder Christopher McElroen (The Cherry Orchard). Performances will be at Harlem Stage Gatehouse, 150 Convent Avenue at West 135th Street, and will begin on Thursday, February 5th. Opening night is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18th and the show will run through Sunday, March 8th.

The reading is part of their new play development series called 'Future Classics.'
