Luther Burbank Center For The Arts' Annual Fundraiser Raises $400,000 For Arts And Education Programs

With the help of famed North Bay pastry artists, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced today that it raised $400,000 at its 15th annual fundraiser, The Art of Dessert, held on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Proceeds from the fundraiser support the Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, which allows LBC to engage Sonoma County residents in the power of the arts, from world class performances to nationally-recognized education programs. Since its inception, the annual fundraiser has raised $3.6 million and helped provide the enrichment of arts to over 400,000 children.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC)made its spring announcement of 18 new shows added to the 2018-2019 season, continuing to showcase chart topping musicians, compelling dance companies, groundbreaking storytellers and authors and a wide range of holiday performances, all appealing to diverse audiences. Tickets for all shows go on sale first to LBC members on Monday, April 9 at 12 p.m. and then to the general public on Friday, April 20 at 12 p.m.

Luther Burbank Center For The Arts Welcomes 30 North Bay Pastry Artists To Participate In THE ART OF DESSERT

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced that 30 pastry artists from North Bay bakeries, restaurants and catering companies will participate in the annual benefit, The Art of Dessert, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Center's Lytton Rancheria Grand Lobby (50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa). The Art of Dessert-now in its 15th year-features one-of-a-kind confections created by the North Bay's most esteemed pastry artists. The desserts are judged by a panel of local celebrities, and will double as artistic table centerpieces and the delectable final course. The Art of Dessert raises vital funds for the Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, which allows LBC to engage Sonoma County residents in the power of the arts, from world class performances to nationally recognized education programs that change the lives of 40,000 children annually. Since its inception, The Art of Dessert has raised $3.2 million and helped the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts provide the enrichment of arts to more than 400,000 children.

Lincoln Theater and Festival Napa Valley ANDRE - THE VOICE OF WINE

Lincoln Theater and Festival Napa Valley will co-present the Napa Valley gala premiere screening of Andre - The Voice of Wine on Saturday, April 7, at 3pm at Lincoln Theater in Yountville. With its recent world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, this feature-length documentary tells the story of Andre Tchelistcheff, the legendary winemaker known as the "Dean of American Winemakers." The film screening will include a panel moderated by director Mark Tchelistcheff. A VIP wine tasting reception will follow featuring wineries influenced by the late Tchelistcheff, including Grgich Hills Estate, Rodney Strong Vineyards, Jordan Winery, Alquimista Cellars, Staglin Family Vineyard and Beaulieu Vineyard.

All Shula's Steak House Restaurants Earn Prestigious Wine Spectator Awards

All nine Shula's Steak House locations throughout the country are being honored by Wine Spectator Magazine with their 2017 Award of Excellence. Shula's Steak Houses in Walt Disney World and in Naples, FL both receiving additional honors, earning the Best Of Award of Excellence. Wine Spectator's Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.

The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) announced the winners of its 4th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards tonight. The event honored the outstanding and creative international contributions of location professionals and film commissions in seven categories of film, television and commercials. The black-tie awards ceremony took place at the Steven J. Ross Theater at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank before an audience of 500, including LMGI members, industry executives and press. Dinner Party Download's Rico Gagliano served as host.

Wine Institute: 2016 California Wine Harvest Report

The 2016 California winegrape harvest was early, with a mostly normal yield of exceptional quality fruit throughout the state. A relatively even growing season followed welcome winter rains that helped to alleviate the drought. "It's been a good season so farthe grapes are in great condition, showcasing spectacular flavors," said Randy Ullom, winemaster at Kendall-Jackson Wines, with vineyards in Sonoma County and statewide. Cathy Corison, owner/winemaker at Corison Winery in Napa Valley is equally pleased: "2016 was early, small and delicious. The entire ripening season enjoyed cooler than average daytime highs and cold nightsperfect for inky, complex wines. Measured in pace, it was also easy on the winemakers."

Wells Fargo Center for the Arts welcomes the holiday season in the newly renovated Ruth Finley Person Theater (50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa) with a lineup of celebrated music, comedy, dance and family performances. The 2013-2014 season is well underway and continues with a performance featuring the talents of singer-songwriters Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell with Richard Thompson (November 2), the classic vocals of nine-time Grammy award winner Natalie Cole (November 24) and rounds out 2013 with a celebration of the holiday season, including Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker (December 18 and 19) and The Brian Setzer Orchestra: Christmas Rocks 10th Anniversary Tour! (December 26). Since its reopening in August, after a $2.8 million renovation, the Ruth Finley Person Theater has showcased a variety of talent from Patti LaBelle to Lewis Black to The Beach Boys.
