OKLAHOMA!, the musical that originated the state song and revolutionized musical theatre, comes sweeping down the plain to the Civic Center Music Hall this summer. Running June 23 through 27, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's production brings together a cast and creative team with Oklahoma roots. The show is the first of four Lyric productions at the Civic Center in 2015.

The classic musical, featuring music by Jerome Kern and book & lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, would have been directed by Broadway veteran and Tony Award winner Tommy Tune.

Australia's leading theatre producer John Frost today announced that his Tony Award-winning production of The King and I is the next Rodgers and Hammerstein masterpiece to be presented in Australia by the Gordon Frost Organisation and Opera Australia. The Christopher Renshaw directed production premiered in Australia in 1991 to sell out houses across the country, then went on to win four Tony Awards on Broadway in 1996, including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical (Donna Murphy), Best Scenic Design (Brian Thompson) and Best Costume Design (Roger Kirk).

(UMC) has announced initial casting for its new Off-Broadway production of the 1950 musical revue Bless You All! with sketches by Emmy Award winner Arnold Auerbach ("The Phil Silvers Show," Call Me Mister) and a score by acclaimed songwriter Harold Rome (Fanny, Destry Rides Again). Directed by UMC artistic director Ben West (The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad), the limited three-week engagement will run Sep 19 - Oct 5 at The Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street), officially opening Sep 22.
