NYC composer, lyricist and pianist William Waldrop will make his Metropolitan Room debut on Sunday, September 20 at 9:30PM with a show entitled "Still, And Still Moving: The Music of William Waldrop." Waldrop will be joined onstage by a starry lineup of singers who will perform his songs at the internationally acclaimed cabaret room.

Based on Sophocles' Greek myth Oedipus and set in a contemporary African-American gospel church service, this production will move and thrill you with electrifying vocals. Scorned and aged, Oedipus arrives at Colonus where he will die as fate foretold. But before his demise, he must tell his side of events. His journey toward truth, self-understanding, and forgiveness comes with soaring songs and an ending to lift the soul.

The Warehouse is produced by Bob Teitel (Men of Honor, Barber Shop), Billy Dec (Rockit Ranch/Elston Films), Randy Crumpton (The Truth) and Joe Shanahan (Metro/Smartbar/Double Door), who will appear tonight, March 31 at 6 p.m. at the launch party and Frankie Knuckles Foundation (FKF) Benefit at The Underground (56 W. Illinois St). 100 percent of ticket proceeds to benefit the FKF.

The Emerald Theatre Company at Theatre Works is currently showcasing not one, not two, not three - but nine pieces in its latest production, STANDING ON CEREMONY: THE GAY MARRIAGE PLAYS. This modest, meaningful series of vignettes - some, extremely funny; some, sad in the extreme; all, worth seeing - deserves a bit of attention. A new feature film, THE WAREHOUSE, will celebrate the Godfather of House Music, GRAMMY Award-winning Frankie Knuckles (1955-2014) and Chicago's legendary Warehouse afterhours club, where the internationally recognized House Music genre was born. In recognition of its high standard of achievement in golf literature, "American Triumvirate: Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan and the Modern Age of Golf," written by James Dodson, has earned the United States Golf Association's Herbert Warren Wind Book Award for 2012. Dodson previously won the award in 2004 for "Ben Hogan: An American Life."
