The internationally-acclaimed Pacific Chorale in Orange County, CA will be presenting a new work created by American opera composer Jake Heggie, and the versatile librettist Gene Scheer entitled 'THE RADIO HOUR'. The choral opera will be conducted by Pacific Chorale's Artistic Director, John Alexander, and stage-directed by James R. Taulli. The premiere work will be performed by the organization's chamber choir, The John Alexander Singers, accompanied by an 8-member ensemble of musicians who are members of Pacific Symphony. The performance is on Sunday, May 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, CA. Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and Chorus in a concert staging of Verdi's Aida June 5, 2014, at 8:00 p.m., June 7, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., and June 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. Kimmel Center Education Department's new Show Stoppers after-school musical theater program is gearing up for its inaugural winter revue in Perelman Theater on December 13 at 7 p.m. The public is invited to experience this free community concert that celebrates the musical theater, dance and vocal talents of over 40 regional students, grades 9 to 12, who after a series of weekly after school instruction sessions with renowned teaching artists, will showcase their skills in a culminating performance. The evening program is an original work by teaching artist Jennifer Blaine in collaboration with the staff that showcases the many talents of the students as they express their concerns and solutions to the existing problems of budget crisis and the arts. The concert concludes Show Stoppers Fall session.

The Collegiate Chorale raised more than $200,000 at its 2013 Annual Fall Gala on November 6, 2013 at Carnegie Hall. The festive Gala evening welcomed 125 guests, and honored Directors Emeriti Anna M. and William H. Mann for more than ten years of dedicated and inspired Board service. The cocktail reception and seated dinner was followed by a much anticipated concert performance of Arrigo Boito's Mefistofele and a dessert buffet during intermission. The thrilling musical fireworks and the glorious choral music provided a spectacular evening of heavenly music and devilish good fun.
