A community partner in the Easton Area Public Library's BIG READ initiative for the second year, the State Theatre will host a screening of The Great Gatsby in the Acopian Ballroom on Friday, May 1st at 7:30 PM. The event is free.

The Mirror Repertory Company will present John Colton's THE SHANGHAI GESTURE, an epic story of love and revenge -- and the culture clash of blood and ethnicity, April 21, 2009 thru May 17, 2009 at the Julia Miles Theatre, 424 West 55th St. Previews begin April 23rd and the official opening will be on April 30, 2009 at 7PM.

JUDY CARMICHAEL, the internationally-acclaimed Grammy Award nominated stride pianist, radio host and author called 'a major figure in keyboard jazz performance' by the San Francisco Examiner, will release her new CD 'Come And Get It' on April 14. The disc, which marks her debut as a vocalist, will be available on iTunes, Amazon.com and her website JudyCarmichael.com. After upcoming CD release celebrations in London, Switzerland and Australia, she will mark the program's New York debut with an exclusive concert at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center on April 13.

Country music star, CMA Winner, ACM Winner and four-time Grammy Nominee Joe Nichols has been offered the role made famous by George Strait in the Broadway production of the hit movie, Pure Country. According to producer Randall L. Wreghitt, the musical is in the process of securing the remainder of its financing and casting, and plans to open in early 2010.

Arizona-based actress SUSAN CLAASSEN has just returned from a highly successful engagement on London's West End as legendary Hollywood designer Edith Head in 'A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD'.

Tectonic Theater Project will be hosting a benefit performance and post-performance reception honoring the Broadway Premiere of Mois?s Kaufman?s new play, 33 Variations starring Jane Fonda, Samantha Mathis, and Colin Hanks on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Eugene O?Neill Theater, 230 W 49th St., New York City. Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 25th Sundance Film Festival. In addition to the four Competition categories, the Festival presents films in five out-of-competition sections to be announced tomorrow. The 2009 Sundance Film Festival runs January 15-25 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.

Arizona-based actress Susan Claassen, who completed a highly successful engagement on London's West End this summer as legendary Hollywood designer Edith Head in 'A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD', recently began an intermittent US tour which will bring her to Arizona and California. (The month-long engagement at London's new Leicester Square Theatre was preceded by a sold out run at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.)

Patrons who have purchased tickets for performances through November 23rd, 2008 should return to their point of purchase for a refund.
