James Earl Jones, Julie Harris and Dizzie Gillespie are just some of the outstanding artists to perform at the Edgerton Center over the years.

Renowned actress, producer and humanitarian Mary Tyler Moore will receive Screen Actors Guild (SAG)'s most prestigious accolade - the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. Moore created a new paradigm for female leads in television, won top honors for her courageous performances in film, television and on stage, produced some of the most lauded television programs of all time, and for thirty years, has served as a tireless advocate giving hope to all those afflicted with Type 1 diabetes.

With its many supporting roles for older performers, one of the great pleasures of productions of Follies is the opportunity to see some of the theatre's senior members making a triumphant return to the Broadway stage.

Surflight Theatre, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Roy Miller and Executive Producer Timothy Laczynski, continues its 2011 season with I Do! I Do!, the Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt musical based on The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog.

Starring real-life couple Matthew Ashford (of NBC's 'Days of Our Lives') and Christina Saffran Ashford, I Do! I Do! opens at Sacramento Music Circus August 16-21. With book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt (the team behind The Fantasticks), I Do! I Do! will delight audience members of all ages.

To honor the film, the Center is hosting a Can Can Food Drive, collecting non-perishable food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Guests are invited to arrive as early as 5:30 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk.

Bradley Dean, who recently appeared as Carl-Magnus opposite Bernadette Peters in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music, will begin performances as El Gallo, the charming and manipulative narrator in The Fantasticks, on Monday, July 25, 2011. Edward Watts, who currently plays the role, will give his final performance on July 24.

The Music Man, by Meredith Willson, will close July 17, 2011 on the grounds of the beautiful Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island, just minutes from the Staten Island Ferry.

The 2011 season is marching on for the Harbor Lights Theater Company (HLTC) as it begins its preparations to bring The Music Man to the stage, complete with a variety of exceptional local talent plus Patti Mariano who was in the original production of The Music Man on Broadway with Robert Preston at the young of age 11.

According to Whatsonstage.com, stage and screen star Joanna Lumley might return to the West End in the upcoming production of THE LION IN WINTER at Theatre Royal Haymarket. Lumley would play Eleanor of Aquitaine in the 1966 play, which will reportedly be directed by Trevor Nunn.

Charles West, whose credits include the Broadway productions of The Scarlet Pimpernel and Show Boat and who is currently understudying the role of El Gallo in The Fantasticks, will assume that role for twelve performances from June 18 through June 26, 2011.

The Boiler Room Theatre (BRT), Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company, continues its 11th season with Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's charming two-person musical I Do! I Do! opening Friday at the theatre, located in the historic Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, in Franklin, Tenn. for a run through June 11.

Just in time for wedding season, the Boiler Room Theatre (at The Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd, Bldg 6) celebrates old-fashioned matrimony in all its glory and heartbreak with this musical adaptation of Jan de Hartog's play 'The Fourposter.'
