Ming Luke will act as guest conductor for San Francisco Ballet (SFB) at Kennedy Center in late October. The company will present two programs of new works selected from their groundbreaking Unbound Festival. Luke, along with SFB Music Director Martin West, will lead the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra in live accompaniment for pieces choreographed by some of the world's most renowned dance-makers.
Today, The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-Most have announced that Lisa Wong has been named Director of Choruses for The Cleveland Orchestra, effective immediately. The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus is one of the few professionally trained, all-volunteer choruses sponsored by a major American orchestra. Its members hail from nearly fifty Cleveland-area communities and together contribute more than 15,000 volunteer hours to the Orchestra's music-making each year. Wong will hold the Frances P. and Chester C. Bolton Director of Choruses Endowed Chair.
On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:30pm, the Greenwich Village Orchestra (GVO) returns to the beautiful 19th-century Church of the Incarnation (209 Madison Ave.) for its final concert of the season, Requiem Aeternam. The GVO joins forces with St. George's Choral Society, under artistic director and conductor Matthew Lewis, for Verdi's epic Requiem. Requiem's soloists will feature soprano Rebecca Farley, mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis, tenor Jonathan Tetelman, and bass Christian Zaremba.

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced that renowned choral director Robert Porco will step down from his position as the Orchestra's Director of Choruses with the conclusion of the 2017-18 season. At that time, he will be the longest-serving Director of Choruses and Director of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus in the ensemble's history, he began his tenure with the 1998-99 season.
