WALDEN Set for The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity

The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity presents Walden, a story-theatre style musical adaptation of Thoreau's best seller, featuring his work on the underground railroad and his star-crossed romance. Book and Lyrics for Walden are written by Katherine Brann Fredricks and the music is composed by Bert Draesel. Brian Maschka directs a cast of ten including Drew Aber, Cole Burden, Susannah Jones, Lisa Lamothe, Heather Lundstedt, Ronnie Nelson, Kurt Robbins, Thalia St. Hubert, Doug Shapiro, Forest VanDyke, with additional cast members to be announced shortly. Six performances for Walden will be held at the Robert Moss Theatre, 440 Lafayette Street, NYC from May 29-June 15 as part of The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Festivity will take place May 29th through June 23rd at Gene Frankel and Robert Moss Theatres in New York City.

Tony Award-winner Randy Graff (City of Angels, Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, A Class Act) will star in a free staged reading of Marco Calvani's comedy OIL on Thursday, June 20 at 7:30pmas a part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious theatre, music and film festival which will run from May 29-June 23 at the Robert Moss Theatre (440 Lafayette Street) and the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street).

SOMETHING SUDDEN 5WEPT 0V3R ME, a new play written by Steven Mark Tenney and directed & choreographed by Susan Tenney, will begin performances at the Robert Moss Theatre (440 Lafayette Street, NYC) on June 5th as part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious arts festival. The benefiting organization for this production is Rainforest Alliance.

Loretta Michael Productions presents the world premiere of 'Straight Faced Lies,' a comedic drama written by Mark Jason Williams and directed by Melissa Skirboll, June 2-22 at the Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street). The show is part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly and socially-conscious arts festival, and both Mark Jason Williams and Melissa Skirboll are Planet Connections Award winners: he received the 'Outstanding Playwriting' award in 2011 for 'The Other Day,' while she was named last year's 'Outstanding Director' for The Closet.

Articulate Theatre Company has announced the NYC premiere production of Jenny Connell Davis' DRAGON, directed by Cat Parker. "This Round's On Us" - After the Fool... is the second fundraising event of the year to support Nylon Fusion Theatre Company's 6th Season. The festival will feature plays by new and notable playwrights, including Kristina Poe, a longtime member of LAByrinth Theater Company, James Harmon Brown, best known for his work on All My Children, and Jack Karp, a member of Nylon Fusion and winner of the David Mamet Playwriting Competition, whose recent play Incendiary Agents, presented at The New Ohio, performed to sold-out houses.

On Sunday, June 16 at 7:30pm at the Alice Griffin Jewelbox Theatre in the Pershing Square Signature Center, the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala 'One Acts for a Cause' will showcase three new one-act plays by acclaimed playwrights Neil LaBute, John Patrick Shanley and Winter Miller (Neil LaBute and Winter Miller's pieces will be world premieres). The evening, which will start with a VIP reception with the playwrights at 6:30pm followed by the performance at 7:30pm, will raise funds for the non-profit Safe Horizon, the leading victim services agency in the United States. VIP tickets are $300 (orchestra ticket & reception ticket); show-only tickets are $200 (orchestra) and $150 (mezzanine) and tickets can currently be purchased online at www.PlanetConnections.org.
