An evocative and sweeping musical tale of the epic battle between good and evil, Jekyll & Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a murderous counterpart. Featuring a thrilling score of pop-rock hits from Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse, Jekyll & Hyde tells the saga of these counterparts one, a doctor, passionate and romantic; the other, a terrifying madman and the two women in love with him, unknowing of each other or his dark secret. This show is suitable for mature audiences.

On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll's experiments with exotic powders and tinctures have brought forth his other self Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. But Hyde has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave.

UConn Avery Point, in collaboration with UConn School of Fine Arts and the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut will present the opening of a new exhibition--Sailors, Sea Creatures and Strings: Maritime Puppets from the Collections of the Ballard Institute--on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m., with refreshments served at 6 p.m. and a free tour beginning at 6:30 p.m. All events will take place in the exhibition space located on the second floor of Branford House at UConn Avery Point. UConn Avery Point is located at 1084 Shennecossett Road, Groton, Connecticut 06340. The exhibition will be on display through Dec. 17, 2017.
