Penobscot Opens Registration For Youth Production Of TREASURE ISLAND

Penobscot Theatre Company's Dramatic Academy is now registering youths aged 4-15 for its spring production of Treasure Island. Classes will begin March 26 and run every Tuesday and Thursday until May 16. Led by professional teaching artists, students will take the play from page to stage, learning dramatic technique in a safe and collaborative environment. The program will culminate with three public performances, fully produced and technically supported, at the historic Bangor Opera House, May 17-19. Registration will close March 28.

MSMT Partners With Local Libraries To Inspire Readers

Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) is partnering with six local libraries starting April 1 through July 13 to inspire readers to discover or become reacquainted with Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, the novel that inspired the theatre's upcoming show Treasure Island: A Musical Adventure.

The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) announced winners of its 6th Annual MUAHS Awards in 21 categories of film, television, commercials and live theater, during a formal gala at the Novo by Microsoft at L.A. Live Downtown on Saturday night, February 16, 2019.  Winners in the Feature Motion Pictures categories include A Star is Born, Vice,Crazy Rich Asians and Mary Queen of Scots. Television winners included The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Westworld and Dancing with the Stars. For the categories of Motion Picture Made for Television, winners include King Lear, Cocaine Godmother and Jesus Christ Superstar: Live and in Concert.
